4-0 out of 5 stars Tamrac 5275
Shipping was very rapid - received 3 days after ordering. I wanted a back pack for travel overseas because it doesn't tell people there's expensive camera equipment inside. It holds three cameras (one a small point and shoot) and three lenses with no problem. The small travel tripod is a little snug when carried inside. There seems to be plenty of room for filters and film for a week trip. Hardware and construction is heavy duty. I hope to be able to also carry the makings for a pic nic; i.e.; a bottle of wine, cheese, bottle opener. This will be a very tight fit but possible. Anything beyond this think about ordering the Tamrac full size packs.

5-0 out of 5 stars Portable protection- like a tank
I used this for a Nikon Coolpix 5700 and a Canon ZR50MC mini DV camcorder. In addition I was able to store the battery chargers and power cords for both items above, as well as all the manuals for both. Further, I stored 13 mini DV tapes, 2 Canon BP-535 batteries, 5 filter boxes, two additional batteries for the Nikon, and more. This is a VERY well built back pack and even though it has room to spare to begin with there are points of attachment all over this thing for additional accessories. You never realize how much cra...er, uh, stuff you have until you try and put it in a camera bag. This one has plenty of room and the ability to "add rooms" as your collection of necessities (?) grows. If you want to take it with you and you want it protected, spend the money for this bag. You won't be sorry.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great backpack!
I highly recommend this backpack. It has plenty of room, padding, and features. Mine includes my SLR camera, one lens, several filters and a digital camcorder, two large flashes, extra film, batteries, camera books -- and it's not even close to being full. It's not a small backpack, but the size is very manageable. Previously, I bought a smaller camera bag, and found I outgrew it too quickly.

5-0 out of 5 stars I love this photo backpack!
I travel by air quite frequently and find this backpack convenient to carry and stowe. It's made of waterproof material and has enough space to hold all of my photography needs. There are slots and tabs on each side of the backpack to add additional assessory products, if needed. There is a front netted pocket with a draw string to hold my 13" (53" extended) travel tripod securely. I highly recommend this photo backpack.

5-0 out of 5 stars What a great, great backpack
Just returned from Alaska. I bought this back pack just before going and it was exactly what I was looking for. I arranged the sections to carry a Sony handycam (normal size) 2 full size 35mm SLR cameras and an extra zoom lens. I also brought 24 rolls of film, 7 filters, and 2 disposable cameras. Oh, and I could fit my husband's digital camera (minus the charger for both the video and digital). There was still room to carry rain gear on the inside. I tied on our umbrella as well. This was rather heavy (my fault for jamming everything in there) but has a waist and chest clip to help with that. EXCELLENT. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Nice bag
I bought this bag to hold a fairly small camera (Olympus D-490). The camera fits easily in the bag. I'm not sure that a larger, SLR-like camera, would fit so well. The inside is padded, so as to not scratch the monitor on back. There is a small, separate pouch for batteries, memory cards, etc. The main pouch has a zip-top cover, as well as a second, fold-over flap for extra protection. I'm pleased with the bag.

4-0 out of 5 stars Sturdy, compact -- just a little too compact.
I do like this bag. It's small, light, and sturdy. It has a small front pouch for CF cards and spare batteries or battery pack. You can attach it to your belt or use the adjustable shoulder strap. Very versatile. It would have easily gotten 5 stars if it had just a little more room. I have a Canon Powershot G2 and the fit is snug, which is what I wanted. However, there's no room for any cords (and barely room for the neck strap on my camera). The Digital 4 bag could have used one thin, long pouch on the side for extra little camera accessories.

If you don't have a camera larger than the Canon G2 (and most are not larger) and you want a bag that's compact and well built but only has enough room for the bare necessities instead of a lot of pouches and pockets for extra items, then this bag should suit you very nicely. It's perfect if you want a camera bag that is small and unobstrusive but have no desire to carry any extras while you're on the go.

5-0 out of 5 stars I've got a good case
The Tamrac is great for digital cameras. I have a Canon S50 in it and have room for an extra battery, extra CF cards and an a/v cable.
It has a zippered pouch on the outside, two zippered small compartments inside and outside and it can all fit on your belt. But it is the 5696 series, sorry.

4-0 out of 5 stars A durable case
I bought this for a digital camera and spare memory cards and batteries. It holds all of those and room for a bit more. There is good padding that I am sure I will be thankful for when I drop it. Heavy duty... yes but, light weight. It's not slim at about 4" thick. Comes with a detachable shoulder strap and a built-in belt loop. It has combo clip and velcro front flap.

5-0 out of 5 stars Love It!
I love this bag! It hold my camera, extra battery, memory cards and even a mini tripod I have to take family photos. It fit on a belt loop so my husband can carry it without feeling silly and I can carry it like a purse. Its just big enough to carry what you need without feeling like you're carring around a photo center. We took it on our month long honeymoon last year and it still looks like new. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars As capacious as ...
I bought the Tamrac 5608 Pro 8 because it easily holds holds two pro sized SLR bodies (Nikon F3s with short-ish lenses and the 8 AA battery powered MD4 motor drives attached) and 4 additional lenses, but its active career in my 'photo-arsenal' was short lived.

My main gripe with this bag is with the seam used to join the bag to the main zipper (it isn't taped over and will lead to inevitable fraying and zipper jams) and the tripod holder is a complete joke (only good for the very lightest duty tripods). If you have a bunch of filters, you will need to get a wallet-style holder to hold them safely and securely.

For the price, this bag is quite the bargain as comparable products will set you back at least twice as much - but in retrospect I think I should've shelled out more in the beginning. I ended up trading up to a LowePro backpack.

5-0 out of 5 stars Roomy yet light.
Well finished, balanced, beauty... a very very nice camera bag. I'm not fond of back-packs or kangaroo pouches for carrying my photo gear. I prefer the classic, standard, shoulder-hanged bag. I particularly feel this one as a very safe and rugged one.
You'll find enough space in it to accomodate bodies, lenses, flash, and several minor gadgets. Side-slip pocket is a real hit, very handy indeed.

2-0 out of 5 stars Not Good For Olympus E-10 Digital Cam and accessories
I bought this for the E-10 and with some seriosly major adjusting I was able to fit everything in, tightly. I thought this bag that is supposed to hold 2 cameras would be able to hold my single E-10 comfortably but it didnt. Go with the back-pack bag from Tamrac here. It is much better and fits everything perfectly.

5-0 out of 5 stars A Gear Bag that can take it!
The Pro 8 is one tough cookie. My goal in finding a great gear bag was one that could hold 2 SLR bodies and 3-4 lenses, a flash and multiple other goodies. The bag had to hold it securely, be weather resistant and have top-notch foam padding. i.e. Built to last, so my camera gear would, too! I shoot in all seasons, even winter in Minnesota. I can slip one or two of those neat little "hand heater" pads into the bag in the winter and the INSULATING qualities of the Pro 8 keep the gear warm. The opposite is true in summer or when you must leave your gear in the car during warm days. A "cool pack" in one of the spare compartments does the trick for keeping things at a reasonable temperature for hours. The detachable film bag goes right from the fridge to the Pro 8 quickly, or detaches for inspection at airports in a snap. If you have one camera body and 1-2 lenses, use the extra space for lunch! The Pro 8 is worth every penny. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars roomy, comfy, perfect.
The best hip pack out there. I have a Sony CD500 digital camera. The case has two little removable sectioners, two big removable secioners, and the shoulder strap. I wear it around my waist, and it's comfy and sits on me perfect. I can also fit my PDA phone, wallet, and other little necessities in the front zip pouch when I'm about town. Also, looks just like a fanny pack and not a big camera bag like I had been carrying, so wouldn't be as quick a target for thieves. I'm thrilled!

5-0 out of 5 stars cozy fit for an SLR
This is my first dedicated camera bag I've bought. I got this bag to hold my recently-purchased Canon 300D Digital Rebel SLR. The bag is just big enough to hold the camera (with an attached lens) and two other lenses. You should take a look at Tamrac's website to see the internal diagrams of this bag. I have the Canon 28-135mm lens, which is a pretty hefty lens, and the fit is a bit too cozy for my taste. If I keep the lens attached to my camera and place the camera in the main compartment, pulling out the camera occasionally knocks off the lens cap if it isn't very firmly attached.

Additionally, there isn't much room for other material. There are three other compartments. One is in a small plastic zippered housing in the lift-top, another is in a large zippered compartment on the front of the bag, and the last is in some webbing in the front. All in all, there is just enough room to keep some spare memory cards/film and batteries. However, when I go travelling on foot, I tend to keep a lot of extra papers with me, including maps, guide books, and other junk, and it looks like there isn't much room for that. Behind the bag is a snap-buttoned lining for holding the attached belt. I use this enclosure for keeping my compact 10" tripod.

Other than that, this is a fine bag as long as you keep your accessories and other personal items to a minimum. There were other things I liked. One, inside the bag there is a good 1" of clearing between the camera and the lid. This is good, because I don't want anything touching (and potentially scratching) the LCD on the back of my camera. Second, the internal compartments are very well padded. Finally, the bag doesn't look like a camera bag. It looks like a typical daypack (with a nice blue colour to boot), so this will minimise the potential for mugging!

4-0 out of 5 stars Quality Product, a little small...
Tamrac makes good stuff, and this pack is no exception. Good accessability choices and carrying configurations, including a sturdy waist strap that can be used by people who have a waist size larger than your typical model, even downright hefty types like myself. Nice padded shoulder strap with good ergonomics.

The pack material is very soft and might not stand up for years of exposure, but too early to tell. Due to it's tall, narrow look you can't tell it's a camera bag unless you are familiar with the brand, unlike other bags which scream "Steal Me!" such as the nice Canon pro bag with "Canon" blazoned on the front. Gee, wonder what's in that? The Tamrac has some subtlety to it.

I have a couple of high speed telephotos and this bag can't handle those with the camera in place, but makes a great replacement for the surprisingly useless bag that came with my wife's Sigma.

Great bag for smaller systems and basic to intermediate shooters, or as an accessory bag. Go bigger for more advanced systems.

5-0 out of 5 stars Finally the Perfect Bag - Too Bad I Never Get to Use It!
I purchased the Tamrac Velocity 5 for myself to use with my digital camera equipment. I needed something that would allow me to carry everything, including "stuff" from my purse.

I received the bag and my son took one look at it and claimed it as his own for use with his slr, lens and whatever else he needs to carry. The bag is perfect to take to soccer games when he is coaching - he can put it around his waist and not worry about it.

The bag is light enough so it can be filled and not weigh you down. It balances perfectly whether carrying it with the shoulder strap or using it as a hip pack.

Now I just need to buy another one for myself! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Perfect for Canon A70
I bought this case for a Canon A70 and it is a perfect fit for the camera, even though the camera has a little protrusion. There is a lot of padding in this case which should keep the camera safe. Space for AA batteries is also a plus since those tend to wear out more frequently. I like the velcro-plus-buckle design of the flap. The case is a little bulky but I guess if you want to store accessories and have good padding that is unavoidable. Overall, a great camera case!

5-0 out of 5 stars Perfect fit for Fuji FinePix 2600Z
I'm very impressed with this Tamrac camera case. It is a perfect fit for my Fuji FinePix 2600Z. It is well-made to resist rain with an overlapping cover. It is padded on all sides to protect against bumps. And it has a front section which holds 4 batteries and a spare memory card with room to spare. I'm also very impressed by the belt loop and the closure. Both have velcro in addition to clips or snaps. This gives an added sense of security. It comes with a sturdy shoulder strap as well. ... 4-0 out of 5 stars A pretty good camera bag . . .
Tamrac's 5606 camera bag is well constructed, sturdy and versatile, and is suitable for use with either film or digital SLR cameras. It is a mid-sized bag, designed to carry up to two camera bodies. The crucial issue with this type of bag, is whether it has adequate space to carry exactly what you need, including lenses and larger accessories like flash units and battery packs. Check Tamrac's website, and look at the diagrams showing the interior compartments of the bag, and how components may be stored, and judge if there's enough space for the particular gear you have.

The interior of the bag can be divided into up to six smaller compartments. The layout is designed to accept a body with a zoom lens up to around 8 inches in length attached. While a camera with a long lens will fit in the bag, you'll have arrange things carefully if you want to carry too much else. Also this setup does not work well if you have a battery grip attached. One solution is to store the camera and grip with no lens attached. Doing this, there is more than adequate space for the body, and three or four lens, and a flash unit. Stored vertically, a long lens can be accommodated with no problem. Carrying your gear this way, you're not immediately prepared to shoot, as you must take a few moments to assemble the camera.

Though the bag is really better suited to accommodating the gear to fully outfit one camera. In a pinch, the 5606 can accommodate two camera bodies, even with battery packs, but that will leave just about a third of the available space for lenses and a flash.

There is a zippered fold down compartment with pockets in the front. It would be nice if the pockets had some kind of fasteners. Pouches with velco fasteners are on the side of the bag. Velcro is an extremely poor design choice. One should not risk putting valuable or heavy items into these pouches. They could easily be lost, or fall out and be broken, should the fasteners fail to hold. This wasted storage space is the bag's major flaw. Some type of modification would be required to make them truly useful.

The 5606 has an excellent heavy duty carrying strap, and also has straps at the base for carrying a tripod. A semi useful feature is a wallet for carrying digital media and other small accessories. The wallet is attached to the bag with an elastic strip, and sides into a compartment on the side of the bag. The padding in bottom and sides could stand to be a bit thicker, but that can be said of most bags.

As with any camera bag, it's ultimate usefulness depends on the user, and the particular gear to be carried. The 5606 isn't quite perfect in all situations, but it is adaptable enough to be useful most of the time. Available in several colors.

5-0 out of 5 stars A bag for a pro and the daily amateur
When I went camera bag shopping, I was looking for a bag that would not only hold all my SLR gear, but also my backup camera and accessories. This bag does all that and beyond. I can carry 2 bodies and 3 lenses with this bag, 28-200, 70-300 and a macro lens, my flash with wireless transmitter, a thin minolta 150 point and shoot camera, my swiss tool, and filters with plenty of room left over. The easy access front pouch is great for film if you are shooting the kids and don't want to miss a shot by having to dig through the bag to find the film. Why look? The film can be placed in the convenient front flap pouch. I use the side pouches to store my cleaning cloths, extra batteries and a photo pen that I carry around.

With the system 6, 2 things come to mind that are key in all camera bags: 1.) lots of space and 2.) secured travel and protection. With the spacious storage capacity of such a versatile bag, a novice to a pro cannot go wrong with this bag. A must for photographers!

5-0 out of 5 stars Great bag and great price
I did a lot of shopping before I purchased this camera bag. I went to the manufactures web sites and found Tamracs to be the easiest to negotiate and also the most helpful. That told me a little something about the product. When I received my bag I was very impressed with the quality of material and workmanship. There is ample space for my camera, at least five lenses including a telephoto zoom and a flash in the main compartment. There are plenty of side pockets for film, filters and extra goodies. If I have any complaints it would be with the dividers in the main compartment. The Velco system is a little awkward to adjust but I think this is typical for most camera bags. Overall I am very happy with the Tamrac system 6 camera bag and I would't hesitate to purchase other products from Tamrac. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Fuji S5000 Fits
So far, everyone who's seen me carrying this bag around has raved over it. The FujiFilm S5000 that just came out fits into this bag fairly snugly (with the inside divider removed), and I put it in this bag sideways, so the camera's grip is accessible from the top of the bag. There is plenty of room for AA batteries (2 extra sets of 4), XD Picture Cards (just about as many as you'd want to carry around), and other small items. I'd like to see additional side pouches added, a place for my checkbook and credit cards, and someplace to put my sunglasses case... if it had all that, I'd throw away my purse. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Perfect fit for Canon S1
Fits the Canon S1 IS perfectly. It has room for an extra compact flash card and an extra set of batteries. Much better than the Canon case for the S1.

5-0 out of 5 stars A very nice camera bag
My somewhat older Toshiba PDR-M60 camera fits in this case very nicely. Has space for four additional batteries and a SmartMedia card in the side pocket too. I'm very happy with the materials and finish of the bag, and it looks good - albeit a bit bulky, since it has plenty of padding. But this was a great purchase for me. If you're looking for a case that has about 5 x 3 x 2 1/4 " internal dimension, this will do fine.
Also, the color of it is much darker than the picture suggests - looks better in life for sure. ...

Now I just need to buy another one for myself! ... Read more
