TAMRON DIGITAL CAMERA LENS
THIS IS A GREAT FOR XT REBEL 350 D COVERS NEARLY ALL I NEED ABOUT 28-300MM WHEN CONVERTED DUE TO DIGITAL 1.6 CONVERSION.
LENS IS LIGHT AND THE PICTURES I HAVE TAKEN SO FAR ARE AWESOME !
I HAD THE Tamron 28 to 75 millimeter f2.8 XR Di Canon LENS BUT SOME TIMES I JUST NEEDED SOME MORE ZOOM.
I AM VERY HAPPY WITH PRICE AND QUALITY AND I AM LOOKING FORWARD TO TRYING THERE WIDE ANGLE 11-18mm.

Great all use lens
I recently purchased this lens for use on my Canon 20D.I was never happy with the lens that came with the camera.I've been very happy with this lens.

Pros:
- Quality construction. The lens doesn't feel cheap.
- Zoom range of this lens is fantastic.
- Image quality is great.
- Internal focusing makes using filters and hoods a piece of cake
- Zoom lock is nice so the zoom ring doesn't turn while stored or carried.
- Price.For the money this lens will give you a lot of bang for the buck.

Put this lens in your toolkit
The Tamron f/4-5.6 75-300 zoom is a great buy at the price. The zoom is very smooth and auto focus very responsive. Very nice optics. For outdoor work you can, almost, get away with this as the only lens. Results are crisp beautiful photos. Quality is vastly superior to the lenses generally included in a Pentax kit.

Personally I find the low end of the focal length limiting (indoors in particular) and it could be a bit brighter (aperture) but the quality is very good at 300mm. As far as cost goes there is nearly a $100.00 price delta between this and an equivalent 28-200mm lens.

I have personally used this lens for several weddings (paid and voluntary) with great results. Lens is light enough that I have been able to do a lot of shots freehand (no tripod) without noticeable "shake" in the resulting photos. In addition to the weddings I have also had good results with equestrian, other "slow" action photos and in particular landscape shots where I use the zoom to frame the shot with different points of view (POV).

In summary this is a very good lens at a very good price. If you need a long lens in your set this is a very good choice. ... Read more

Good all round lens for Canon EOS 10D
I have been using this lens for a couple of weeks now and over all have been very pleased with the results. I have shot over 500 photos (I love digital photography!) and for the price you cannot beat the wide range and over all function of this lens. Sure there are better and faster lens out there but they will not cover the zoom range and you will pay out the nose for a brand name lens. I have to admit I use PhotoShop to tweak all my photos but for me, that is part of the fun. This is the only lens you need to carry in the old camera bag! ... Read more

Very reasonable price for quality lens like this.
This lens is made with focus on the price and looks very affordable.His whole body is made from plastic which makes this lens very light.Also the focusing mechanism is outside of this lens which makes holding camera little difficult and you have to watch your fingers where they are if you do not want messed up the focusing mechanism or you can use manual focus.There is a better lenses on the market for not too much money then this in this class.

Nice lens, not excellent quality
I bought this lens that came in a package deal with the Canon Rebel 2000 and the Tamron 100-300mm f/5-6.3. This is the lens that I use 90% of the time, and it has held up very well. The pictures come back very sharp and the quality of the prints are very good at most focal lengths. However, there are a few things I should note about this lens that I'm not too pleased with.

1) The autofocus system is a little slow and rather noisy.

2) The zoom operates in an odd way. Most zoom lenses are shortest at the lowest focal lengths, and extend at the higher focal lengths. This lens,however, is shortest at about 50mm and gets longer for both 28mm and 80mm. It's kind of an odd setup, and it has led to a small problem. If I have the focus set to infinity or near it, and have it on autofocus, the zoom ring is sticky, or hard to move when I get to 28mm. If I have the same setup but put the lens on manual focus, rotating the zoom cuff will actually rotate the focus ring a small amount, until it is away from infinity. Now I don't know if this happens eventually to all of these lenses, or just mine. But this problem did not happen until several months after I purchased and used the lens.

But overall, this is a very nice lens. It is small and compact, and perfect to leave on the camera all the time. As I said before, the pictures turn out great, which is all you can ask for in a lens. ... Read more

Great versatile lens
You cannot go wrong with this new lens by Tamron! I bought this lens about a month ago for use with my Nikon N65 and am very pleased. The quality of pictures this lens takes is better than my Nikor 28-80 lens plus I don't have to switch between that lens and my 80-200 lens! Picture quality and contrast is superior throughout the range of this lens (no distortion) and the zoom ring operates very smoothly. I've also noticed better depth of field in this lens over my two other lenses.

I've used the lens mainly for sporting/outdoor events (bright sun and overcast conditions) but have also taken pictures indoors in various lighting situations with the same great results. So far, I've taken about 12 rolls of film (mostly 800 speed) and have been very satisfied with my pictures. No color correction by my lab has been necessary and my developer always brags about my pictures! Between the Nikon camera and this Tamron lens, you can't go wrong!

The lens is lightweight (12 oz) but don't think you are exchanging quality for a lighter lens. This newest generation lens by Tamron combines the best of both worlds. Having to buy 62 mm filters for this lens vs. the 72 mm filters that most 28-200 zoom lenses require is another bonus.
