Amazon.com Product Description

With Sharp's LC-15L1U-S 15-inch AQUOS TV, you get remarkable flat-panel TV viewing, no strings attached. Billed as "the first battery-operated LCD television in the U.S.," it's a truly digital wireless TV built with a carrying handle so you can move it easily for both hassle-free indoor viewing in various rooms and outdoor viewing under most dry conditions. Under ideal circumstances (see note below), the set offers crystal-clear TV, video, and DVD enjoyment virtually anywhere in and around the home without attached wires or cables of any kind.

The stylish and cord-free LC-15L1US looksgood wherever you place it.

The LC-15L1U-S features a sleek, silver design created by the world-class industrial designer Toshiyuki Kita, who created the high-style look of Sharp's entire AQUOS line and whose artwork resides in the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art. Its sculpted, rounded stereo side speakers and built-in easel stand make it simple to transport the lightweight TV from room to room. A built-in, rechargeable high-capacity lithium-ion battery provides approximately three hours of viewing time, allowing plenty of time to enjoy an entire movie, either indoors or outdoors.

The set uses Sharp's SmartLink wireless digital audio/video transmission system, which operates on the 802.11b wireless standard. Just connect the included transmitter to a video source, such as a DVD player, then sit back to watch your favorite movie or TV show in any room of the house. The system transmits digital wireless signals using the 2.4 GHz band high-speed spectrum wireless protocols.

The LC-15L1U-S has an Advanced Super View (ASV) panel with Sharp's proprietary Black TFT low-reflection coating so it can be placed anywhere--even near windows, doors, or other light sources--without sacrificing picture quality. The unit also offers 170-degree viewing angles so viewers get a clear picture from anywhere in the room, and its high contrast ratio (500:1) and high brightness (430 cd/m2) ensure clear, vivid pictures with deep blacks and exceptional color clarity.

The TV measures less than 3 inches deep without its table stand. A special image-inverting feature even lets you flip the image upside-down or mirror it for hanging in an unconventional manner. Together with its wireless A/V center, the set features multiple composite-video and S-video inputs for your DVD player, VCR, or gaming console, an RF antenna input for older VCRs and cable boxes, as well as a cable-ready, built-in 125-channel tuner. An electronic PLL tuner handles over-air reception of TV programming.

What's in the Box

1-0 out of 5 stars Nice idea....
My dad bought one from Sharper Image and he asked me to set it up for him. Well, it didn't work right out of the box so we called up Sharper Image and they said their's didn't work either. It's a pretty decent idea, but I would wait for the next generation. Hopefully quality and price will make nice leaps by then. ... Read more

Amazon.com Product Description

Sharp's stylish LC-45GD4U may be projection-sized in its screen, but the 45-inch LCD TV is a picture-frame thin 4.2 inches, letting you mount it in spots where a projection set would never fit. The HDTV- and PC-compatible Advanced Super View high-definition television houses both NTSC and ATSC (HDTV) tuners and all necessary inputs and outputs, so there's no need for supplementary components; the detailed, 1,920 x 1,080-resolution television is ready to go right out of its box.

The AQUOS LC-45GD4U offers a widescreen 16:9 aspect ratio to match your favorite movies, and full compatibility with high-definition video sources up to 1080i. The set includes 2 detachable, high-aperture aluminum speakers powered by 10 watts per channel.

A handy PC Card slot lets you record still images and video on a PC Card and view them on the TV, and Sharp's proprietary Quick Shoot video circuit ensures a lightning-quick response time of less than 12 ms for smooth-as-silk video and gaming graphics (easily one of the fastest screens available). The set's authorized CableCARD ability means the set will also receive digital cable television systems services directly from the cable operator without requiring a bulky, external cable box.

LCD screens offer a number of benefits over CRT monitors and televisions, including general ease of use, freedom from eye strain (no screen flickering or radiation emissions), quiet operation (no high-pitch "flyback" noise, an issue with CRT TVs), accurate image geometry (no curvature distortion or susceptibility to magnetic interference from, say, speakers), long screen life (no risk of image burn-in), space savings, and light weight/easy positioning. They also tend to be cheaper and, to some eyes, slightly more natural looking than their plasma flat-panel counterparts, which usually "spec" higher (higher brightness, higher contrast ratio).

The LC-45GD4U's Advanced Super View/black TFT (thin-film-transistor) screen offers exceptionally wide (170- by 170-degree) viewing angles and an extraordinary contrast ratio of 800:1 for super-black blacks. Its high brightness (450 cd/m2) ensures wide dynamic range for vivid colors, great depth, and realism. You can place it anywhere--near windows, doors, or other light sources--and its picture will remain vivid. And, with its 60,000-hour lamp life, the backlight life is long enough to give you viewing pleasure for many years.

Connections consist of 2 high-definition component-video inputs, 1 DVI-I (Digital Visual Interface-Integrated) input, 1 HDMI (High Definition Multimedia Interface) input, 2 i.Link (IEEE 1394 inputs), 3 composite-video inputs, and 2 S-video input. An audio/video output (composite- and S-video with stereo analog audio) facilitates hookup with a surround receiver, DVR, VCR, or other destination.

DVI-I is a direct-digital DVI terminal capable of transmitting both analog and digital video data. HDMI (High-Definition Multimedia Interface) is a lossless, uncompressed, all-digital audio/video interface to link any audio/video source (such as a set-top box, DVD player, or AV receiver) with your TV or monitor. HDMI supports standard-definition (SD), enhanced definition (ED), or high-definition (HD) video, plus multi-channel digital audio--all using a single cable. It transmits all ATSC HDTV standards and supports up to 8-channel digital audio, with bandwidth to spare to accommodate future enhancements and requirements.

4-0 out of 5 stars So far, so good
I've had this item for about a month and I'm pretty happy with it. I haven't had the tray tipping problem that another reviewer mentioned but I don't use it for cooking anything large or intricate. I use the microwave mainly for thawing and reheating and it works like a charm. The toaster takes a little bit longer than a stand alone toaster but it toasts evenly and if you're not in a hurry, it's not a problem.
The top of the unit gets hot and a fan blows warm air from the back when the toaster is on I wouldn't put it in a tight space.

1-0 out of 5 stars Awful
This microwave/oven/toaster is great if you want to heat water for tea.

Otherwise, it takes about 13 minutes to adequately toast a single bagel.

The oven has 4 temperature settings ranging up to 400 degrees. If you want to bake at 425 degrees you are out of luck.

It looks pretty and the 3-in-one idea is great, but this unit is one to avoid.

1-0 out of 5 stars Dangerous turntable, poor quality overall
The turntable platter is only supported by a center spoke. There are no supports around the edge of the revolving platter. The platter tips and wobbles with all but the lightest items. I was cooking a large bowl of vegetables and when I tried to remove them, the turntable platter and the bowl of hot veggies tipped towards me, the platter itself slid forward out of the microwave, and I got burnt. For this reason alone it is a dangerous item. Also, the dial knob feels like its make out of cheap plastic and could break off without much force. The turning motion of the knob is rough. Spend more and get a better unit - that's my opinion. It's going back to Wal Mart.

4-0 out of 5 stars Attractive space saver, though slow to toast
In the aesthetics department this item is top notch for anyone going for a stainless steel look in their kitchen. Brushed steel on front, with a black glass window - black metal on sides. Surprisingly, this is more important that I would have thought.

It microwaves well, though at 650W. The controls are convienent, and fast - with a single "one minute" button to save time on reheats. Seems to cook very evenly.

A nice function is the ability to turn the sound off completely - ridding your home of one source of beeps and chirps.

The oven works well for cooking. The toaster works surprisingly well, but it takes close to 3 minutes for a slice of bread. In the toast department, I'd recommend a stand-alone drop-in style toaster.

You can combine cooking and microwaving in steps (thaw then cook, not both at once). ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Want the best? Get a Sharp Aquos
If you want the best HiDef LCD TV, get a Sharp Aquos. Depending on the feature set you need, that will dictate which model is best for you.

I chose this model because of the built-in HD tuner and CableCARD slot. (I hate cable boxes).

I have owned a few different plasma and LCD TVs over the past 3 years, looking for the best that would aleve my pain and frustration to find the best. And this is it.

In my almost (seemingly) endless search, I have tried Samsung, Sony, Panasonic and "generic" brands. None of them can compare to the feature set, picture quality and sound quality of ANY Sharp Aquos model.

Picture Quality: 10/10
At the highest resolution possible for todays HiDef TVs this Aquos delivers way above standard in the departments of black levels, brightness levels and response times. Especially with over-the-air local HD channles. Nothing can get better. Not even Comcast's DVR HD box using DVI, HDMI and component outputs. But these input type still look great. I have tested them all. But over-the-air - mind blowing and I am using a simple old-fashioned "rabbit eared" antenna. The signal is pefect.

Sound Quality 10/10
What? Is there a subwoofer in there? No. But sub-sonically speaking - one would think there is. The first time I heard this set I was blown away. Then I found out that JBL supplied the speaker drivers for this set and Sharp went so far as to build in speakers casings with bass ports on them. I was very impressed (and I work in a recording studio where speaker monitors cost upwards of $3000. And this TVs audio delivered big time. These drivers are ncie. Almost too nice (late at night).

Feature Set: 10/10
And here is why. It is almost perfect. But better then all of the other brand can offer in terms of input selection. CableCARD is the way to go if you do not care about DVR for viewinf digital cable and non-local HDTV channels. There are 2 iLink ports on the set to connect an HDD, Blu-Ray or D-VHS deck - just as good as DVR (and no service required). There are more inputs than anyone would need. The TV Guide option is better than Comcast's EPG. It looks better to. Way easier to navigate as well. HDMI for DVD - WOW! DVI for PC - Now this is what I'm talking about. Xbox on component - 4-real. DOOM3 is very nice.

With this Sharp Aquos, my search for visual multi-media entertainment bliss is over. Do not waste your time, money or frustration. Get an Aquos. It's a little more then the rest, but you get what you pay for. Do not cut any corners. I know if you are looking for a hi-end TV then you are serious about quality. Do NOT get one of those crappy Olevia, Mintek or sub-$1000 TVs - you will hate yourself. Even if you have to sacrifice size for price.

The TV I had before this was a Samsung SPN4235 42" plasma TV. So I sacrificed price for size. Am I sorry - NO WAY. 26" is a decent size. Not movie theater but very acceptable. If you are used to a 20" analog tube TV, a 26" will look HUGE.

Get a Sharp otherwise you WILL be disapointed.

Thank you Sharp, my search and aggrivation is over. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars sharp 13 in lcd
beautiful picture, nice and lightweight; I also got the sanus 2 way wall mount which is excellent, strong and I also highly recommend

5-0 out of 5 stars You Won't Find Better 13" LCD
We were looking for an under-cabinet TV for a new kitchen project. We couldn't have found a better choice than Sharp's 13" Aquos.

The white model worked best with our kitchen decor (other choices are silver and black).

The Aquos is incredibly well-designed. You can set it on a surface with the default stand, or mount it to hang under a cabinet with the included mounting kit.

Installation was a little tricky. I really wanted to hide all of the wires and TV cable up under the cabinet. The under-mount includes a stylish, color-coordinated box for this purpose, but getting all of the wires inside was a bit of a challenge. I ultimately made a trip to the hardware store for longer bolts as those included were about 1/2" shorter than needed for the thickness of our counters.

With this small hurdle cleared, I was able to under-mount the Aquos, and then really began to appreciate the design. Wires and cable are completely hidden. The TV cable and electric input flows down through the inside of the swing arm to the back of the TV. The rear of the the Aquos has inputs anything you could connect to a full-sized TV. A snap-on panel reveals the inputs and hides them once you've attached whatever wires you need to connect.

With setup done, sit back and enjoy the Aquos' crisp LCD picture and clear sound. The stylish Aquos is a joy to behold, and quickly becomes the centerpiece of your kitchen.

The Aquos is not just beautiful; it's a perfect marriage of form and function. The LCD rotates 180 degrees left to right, and the swing arm folds up to stash the unit under the cabinet, thus freeing up a little extra cabinet space. I never fold it up, however. It just looks so gorgeous hanging in its normal spot. A stylish remote is included.

Even customer service is great. I had an issue that I couldn't find in the manual (I accidentally reset the audio to receive the Spanish language translation on some channels). I left an e-mail with customer service, but didn't really expect much help. To my surprise I had an e-mail within two hours that solved the problem.

Bravo, Aquos!

5-0 out of 5 stars Great anyplace you don't have a lot of room
This is a fantastic TV! I was a little unsure whether an LCD TV would be OK in a room that gets a lot of sun, but I am most impressed by the brightness of the picture. The colors are vibrant, and the clarity of the picture is amazing. I mounted it to the wall with a Sanus VM2 wall mount, which it allows you to swing out and tilt the TV when you are watching it and push it back flat against the wall when you aren't. It looks fantastic in my kitchen and is very unobtrusive and attractive when laying flat against the wall. I am delighted with this purchase, and found the 13" was plenty big enough for viewing in the kitchen.

5-0 out of 5 stars Perfect for Kitchen
Ideal kitchen counter size, vibrant display color, sharp picture quality and easy set-up characterize the Sharp LC-13E1U Aquous. I debated 13" vs. 15" and am very happy with the stylish 13". Sound quality is exceptional. Recommend highly.

5-0 out of 5 stars Twice the picture size in half the counter space!
Great picture and nice styling, I am very impressed with this Sharp flat panel TV. Lots of features, compact, and reasonably priced. Best of all, Sharp's EASY SET-UP feature had this puppy out of the box, hooked to the cable, and working, in about 10 minutes - fully programmed. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars This is it! Look no further !!!
I just got mine 506wbbk and with in minutes I loved it.
I decided to get this to replace my 22 years old trusy & great EL-5103 which cost me $50 in 1983 (how much is it in 2005 money? , $100 ?). This new thing is 4 times beter and for the price you can't match. A better manual would be nicer but you'll manage.

5-0 out of 5 stars Sharp Minds?
What? No multi-colored decorative templates? No MediƦval keypad? No invisible decimal point? No known bugs? What were Sharp Minds thinking?
This thing isn't programmable. The complex number and matrix functions are limited compared to those on most graphing calculators, but the general selection of functions and solvers is useful and extremely easy to use. It's a terrific bargain at fifteen dollars.
NB: If you need one of these beauties in a hurry, your college bookstore may well have it in stock now.

5-0 out of 5 stars Sharp finally did it!
Sharp has created the first serious mathematical tool for under $30. Note this is a greatly expanded version of the EL-506VB with a $5 price break thrown in for good measure.

Here are the things it CAN'T do:
1) Graphing
2) Programming (you can program formulas, but no conditional branching)
3) Symbolic Computer Algebra
4) Chi Squared distribution (it will do normal probabilities)
5) Huge matrices (you're limited to four 4x4 matrices)
6) THAT'S ABOUT IT!

Guess what? All those things are best done on a computer anyway. You can get a free copy of MuPad (for noncommercial use), and have far better functionality than any calculator at any price, plus get your output in a form easily shared over the internet. What Sharp has done with this calculator, is give us the ultimate tool to keep NEXT to your computer, or take with you for "outside the box" mathematical doodling.

440 functions (it says 469 on the box -- I'm not counting!) and all easily accessible without menus within menus within menus, ala those cludgy graphing calculators. Oh, there are a few modes and such, but believe me, everything is within a few logical keystrokes. You can spend 30 minutes with the manual, and then THROW IT AWAY.

They did so many little things right. For example, when you do need a menu, you can scroll through all the options with the cursor keys, OR, if you already know your way around, you can just hit one digit that corresponds to your function. And insert mode is the default mode, as God intended it to be. THANK YOU SHARP! The principle is simple: the default should be to preserve information, not destroy it. The user should have to do something deliberately, to overwrite data.

And they took this design out of the world of "toy" and into the realm of "tool" by keeping the calculation history intact through the on/off cycle. If the calculator shuts off in the middle of some earth shaking computation, you just flip it back on again and keep going where you left off.

The keys actually have a little tactile feedback on this calculator. Not like an hp-48, of course, or even a TI-89, but better than most under $30 calculators. And this is just the koolest LOOKING little thing to ever dazzle your eyeballs.

Here's a partial list of function types:
- Arithmetic
- Numeric differentiation/integration
- Four types of random numbers
- 8 memories plus last Answer memory
- 4 formula memories
- Fraction calculations
- Binary, Pental, Octal, Decimal and Hexadecimal base conversions
- Decimal to sexagesimal (time) conversions
- 52 physical constants
- 42 metric conversion
- Engineering notation
- Solve for x (Newton's method)
- Single variable statistics, with normal probabilities
- Linear, quadratic, exponential, logarithmic, power and inverse regressions
- Simultaneous linear equations
- Quadratic and cubic equation solvers
- Complex number calculations
- Matrices (four 4x4)
- Lists (up to four with 16 elements and various operations)

No doubt about it, this is a ground breaking, price shattering tool. I do have one little nit, though. I wish numbers would appear in the top line with the rest of the formula as you enter them. Putting them on the bottom line does two things: 1) It erases the results of the previous calculation (you might want to copy parts of it into the current formula while "doodling"). 2) It removes the numbers from all editing functions, except for last digit DEL. Eg. You can't use the arrow keys to go back and insert a missed digit without some unnecessary tomfoolery.

Oh, and it would be nice to have more memory, so you could input slightly larger matrices (10x10 would be nice), and keep a longer calculation history (maybe keep results as well as formulas?). But all in all, hats off to Sharp. Right now, this is the ONLY serious calculator under $30. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great TV!
We got one for our bedroom to replace the big old clunker. This is an awesome TV.

Benefits:
- Picture is tremendously clear and sharp
- Sound is great
- It looks very slick -- it is beautifully industrially designed. The attention to detail in design extends even to the rear of the unit, where they have cable covers and wire wrapping mounts, so it can stand on a table and look good from all sides.
- Enough connections for several devices to plug in.

Only complaint (which may not matter to you depending on whether you use headphones) is that the there's no way to leave the headphones plugged in and control whether the external speakers are on or off -- if the headphones are plugged in the external speakers go off. For bedroom use, this means that you can't just leave the headphones in and use the remote for sound on/off, and since the jack is covered in the back of the unit, its a little bit of work to plug and unplug it each time.

Other than that minor oversight, this unit is worth every penny. ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars Easy to use... easy to need repair
I had this camera for little over a 1.5 yrs. It need repairs FIVE TIMES! The last three times it was sent in, the problem wasn't fixed so Sears let me trade for a newer version, VL-AH151U, free of charge. I didn't even need a warranty. GOD BLESS SEARS!

4-0 out of 5 stars All new options with the lowest price
Its a very good camcorder, it has all options with the lowest price in the market. Since I leaved near a high voltage cable ligne, the picture copied from the camcorder to the VCR videotape was unstable, also if you record near any high voltage cable the picture will show instability.

5-0 out of 5 stars I Love my New Sharp Viewcam
This is my third camcorder. I have had a VHS camcorder it was heavy and had a little view finder. Then I had a VHS-C It was a little better. But It was still hard to use. You had to put the tapes into the tape adapter. It was hard to try to operate it and look through the viewfinder. I just bought this Sharp Viewcam and I love it. I have a lazy right eye and using the other camcorders I had to use my left eye. It was kinda hard. The Sharp viewcam I don't have to use just one eye I can use both. I can video tape and use the special affects without stopping and trying to find the right button. They are right there on the screen. And when I did playback throught my VCR the picture was great. I think I made a right choice. Because the Sharp viewcam is fun and easy to use. I a mom on three kids and I want to be able to catch special events. And I know with this camcorder I will have fun taping things the kids do.

5-0 out of 5 stars WOW!
This is a great price for such a fantastic camera! It's amazing! Great for home movies and the effects are a nice touch. It's light-weight, too, so you can take it anywhere! I'd give this camera 500 stars if i could!

2-0 out of 5 stars not satisfied

Amazon.com Product Description

PleASINg to the eyes when it's off as well as when it's on, Sharp's LC-15B6U-S LCD TV is little more than 2 inches deep yet produces a vivid, 15-inch image using Sharp's proprietary Advanced Super View LCD panel. The space-saving set is a member of Sharp's acclaimed AQUOS line, and it provides an ideal means for enjoying TV, DVDs, and/or videocassettes in the kitchen, bedroom, or dorm room. The monitor includes a built-in 181-channel cable tuner--feed it a cable-TV signal and you've got a high-resolution video display and a full-fledged television.

The screen's 4:3 aspect-ratio is perfectly suited to most broadcast TV programs. This is an EDTV monitor, which means it's a step closer to high-definition or HDTV than standard TVs. When used with a progressive-scan DVD player (or 480p-output DTV set-top box) you'll get seamless, razor-sharp images from your favorite movies and concert videos. LCD screens offer a number of benefits over CRT monitors and televisions, including general ease of use, freedom from eye strain (no screen flickering or radiation emissions), quiet operation (no high-pitch "flyback" noise, an issue with CRT TVs), accurate image geometry (no curvature distortion or susceptibility to magnetic interference from, say, speakers), long screen life (with no risk of image burn-in), space savings, light weight/easy positioning, and energy efficiency (most LCDs use substantially less power than their CRT equivalents). They also tend to be cheaper and, to some eyes, slightly more natural looking than their plasma flat-panel counterparts, which usually "spec" higher (higher brightness, higher contrast ratio).

Weighing in at about under 12 pounds (with stand), the LC-15B6U-S is easy to position and reposition. The unit sits comfortably on any flat surface with the included stand, which detaches for wall mounting (with any compatible mounting kit, none included).
