Makes sense
I used this product for the first time and found fairly good results, the black color is a bit off .more like a very dark blue but then it's not for reports or anything like that so I appreciate saving half the price of a completely new cartridge, makes a lot of sense. I would recomend this product , Also instructions and procedure for the refil are easy to follow.it was a clean job no mess. Hope that further jobs give the same results.

Saved me money with no loss in ink quality
I bought this product based on the first user recommendation. I have had no problem with this ink and I don't see any difference in quality whatsoever. I guess it depends on your type of printer and I have a HP 692c. I totally recommend this product if you own a HP printer and want to save money.

A bad choice...
Though I'm not nearly a novice, I found the use of this item most disturbing. The ink is NOT the same as HP's and ended up clogging the ports on my cartridge. I later learned that the poor quality ink had gummed up the print head on my machine! Though Hitachi paid the service bill, the savings in price buying this item are NOT WORTH IT! Save yourself the headache and the service bill... buy the HP version.

Very easy to use - definitely worth the money!
The major ink jet manufacturers make the bulk of their money by selling you replacement cartridges for their printers. This product will save you a lot of money by simply allowing you to refill the cartridges you've already purchased. Even if you're a computer novice you will find the instructions very easy to use. Worthless!
The cartridge lid was difficult to pry off despite the tool provided. Once opened, the cratridge WAS easy to refill with the ink's applicator tips. However, the real trouble began once the cartridge was filled and the lid successfully replaced. The ink continuously leaked from the bottom of the cartridge, causing it to spread all over the printed wiring cable. (This after I left it sitting on several layers of paper towels for 15 minutes.) When I returned the cartridge to my printer, the ink continued to leak, and got all over the inside of my printer. Now, when I hit print, the printer goes through it's usual workings, but produces a blank sheet of paper. I believe the leaky ink may have ruined the wiring cable inside the printer.
Don't buy these refill products! They are not worth the money, headache, hassle, or mess!

Garbage!
Save your money and don't buy this worthless refill kit. I tried it and after following the directions I was never able to get any decent printing out of the refilled cartridge and had to go and buy an HP replacement cartridge. I wish Amazon.com would quit carrying it to prevent anyone else from wasting their money. If they had 0 stars that is what I would give this product it is nothing more than a piece a garbage which is where it and the cartridge I tried to reuse ended up.

Cost effective color
I have been using this DataProducts refill system for a couple of years. I have a greeting card design business. So you can understand how many cartridges I would go through normally. It was cost prohibitive for me to keep buying new cartridges. What could be easier! The instructions that are provided are easy to follow. Other refill systems have you fill a plastic syringe then refill your cartridge. DataProducts makes it easy in one less step, by refilling directly from the ink bottle.
