5-0 out of 5 stars bsb i-zone camera
I collect anything and everything Backstreet Boys (everything that the boys endorse, that is) so I had to have this. I only have one complaint, seriously, only one. It didn't come with any film! I received it in the mail, my girls and I were so excited, I put the stickers on it, and then put it away until I could get to the store to buy film. The price of the camera is way too high to not come with film guys. Can't you just stick one pack of film in the package so people can actually use the camera immediately. Otherwise it is so fun to use, and it makes it even better to have "I love A.J." on the front.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Camera, with Great Accessories!
This is a really cool camera! I had never even heard of i-zone, until the BSB promotion came out.

Since I'm such a huge fan, I HAD to buy one! I was pleasantly surprised! Not only was it COOL (neat little Backstreet Boys/Black & Blue camera strap, stickers - of the guys {individual and a group}, their names, an "i <3", an "is hot", the B&B World Tour logo, "The Backstreet Boys" and "The Official Camera of the Black & Blue Tour" - and a game piece to win tickets to their concert {didn't win}), but surprisingly, it was easy to use. I thought, with the instructions consisting mainly of pictures, that I would have difficulty using it, but it's really simple. I'm sure an adult could load the camera for a child, and the child could go from there.

I would suggest taking a test picture first, before you go out into the real world. Once I did that, I understood how to load the film, take the pic out, etc. I don't recommend taking it to a concert, though, unless you have front row seats (don't we all wish that!), backstage passes, or are just going to take pics of your friends there.

Other than that, I would TOTALLY recommend this camera for any BSB fan. It's a great collector's piece, not to mention functional!

1-0 out of 5 stars The different one is delivered.
The camera that was sent to me is the next camera.
"Polaroid i-zone Translucent Pocket Camera (Phat Blue)"
It is very regrettable.

5-0 out of 5 stars Kim's Backstreet I-Zone Review!
I love this I-Zone camera to death. When I bought it, I was like..."OMG!" hehe. It is a beautiful blue and the strap is cool because it is black with blue and white writing. It says "Backstreet Boys Black & Blue" which makes it more special to me. I love anything that has Backstreet Boys on it and I say, it was totally worth getting the camera. It is fun to use and I love to stick the pictures everywhere! Backstreet Boys have another great piece of merchandise with their name on it! Love it!

1-0 out of 5 stars BSB I-Zone Camera
I purchased this camera thinking it would be a BSB collectible. It's not even black and blue like it shows in the pictures...it's a wierd royal blue and cream color. It did not come with the BSB stickers or the BSB strap. The strap was a vinyl cream color, too. There's nothing on the camera that says anything about BSB or relates to the black & blue album. Don't waste your money! ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Polaroid PDC 3350
In a word, fabulous!
In 6 months the only trouble ive had with this product is dropping it down 2 flights of concrete stairs, which caused the lens cover to snap off. No worries though, it just clipped strait back on :D

This camera is brilliant for whatever mode you want to take your pictures in, it has all sorts of functions for indoor, outdoor, cloudy, different lighting. There are several different kinds of flash, which is handy, but when you set the camera not to have a flash, the picture will be VERY blurry, even if you rest the camera on a flat surface. The play mode is brilliant, allowing you to scroll through your images or select one from a grid with all displayed in. You can zoom in and out of a picture you have just taken too. I havnt used a memory card with it yet but ive found the capacity to be sufficient. If this is your first camera, i would suggest buying rechargable batteries as the camera eats though them. Buying cheap batteries in bulk wont help, the cheapest ones will take about a picture each before the camera turns off.

In all, a fantastic camera, with the only slight disadvantages of battery consumpion, and blury pictures WHEN theres no flash. ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars Don't expect much....
I got this camera so I wouldn't have to get the film developed. lol. I also bought it for simple snap shots. What I like is that you can download the pictures onto your hard drive, erase them from your camera if you don't like them, comes with a battery and cord, you can retouch photos (not in a professional way), add special effects, take video captures, and play with 'photo fantasy' (your face on someone elses body). It doesn't take the good photos (made me rethink why I didn't get a camera with film). This Polaroid is only for kids or those who is new to digital cameras. Start with this model and get familiar with it, then buy a better camera.

2-0 out of 5 stars A piece of junk
Flash didn't work most of the time and if it did, it took to long to set itself up again. Had to change batteries constantly!!

2-0 out of 5 stars good for a first digital camera
This camera is basically only good for someone that doesn't know alot about computers and digital camera.

what stinks about this camera, is there is no flash....and you can't buy a memory card to store more pictures, so it's not good for a vacation.

the quality wasn't the best, kinda grainy....
but if you're just looking for a simple camera to learn the basics of how to work digital cameras, this is a good way to learn w/o spending too much money

1-0 out of 5 stars couldn't use for anything!
I bought this camera hoping to use it to take pictures of stuff to sell in online auctions... and couldn't even use it for that, as every picture was very blurry, and it was very hard to get any detail, except with TONS of outside light. The only thing was able to do successfully was "impressionistic" artwork of flowers!

1-0 out of 5 stars .07 Megapixels? Pass!
I'm going to make this short and sweet. .07 MP is not even adequate for a child, let alone a casual picture-taker. This digital camera fails to capture ANY detail whatsoever unless there is an extreme amount of light. In the ideal circumstance where much light is available, the photo is still rather blurry. If you attempt to take any pictures in normal household light, prepare for shadows and utter darkness. This camera is utterly worthless, and I strongly suggest you keep far, far away from it. ... Polaroid's updated version of the i-zone instant camera lets you personalize your camera with several fun, colorful faceplates that you can change on a whim to fit your mood, match your outfit, or match your favorite color. And because this camera has front and top changeable faceplates, you can mix-and-match the colors and patterns. It comes with two sets of color changeable faceplates that clip easily into place.

This i-zone isn't just the old version with colorful faceplates, however. Polaroid has also redesigned the entire body with a sleeker, more aerodynamic shape and feel; the smaller body fits into a pocket or bag easier than ever. But the new look does not affect the easy-to-use features of the original i-zone camera. It is still focus-free, with a built-in flash and simple film loading. The three settings, indoors (with flash), outdoor/sunny, and outdoor/cloudy allow you to pick the best mode for your scene or subject, adding to your creative control.

Capture lots of fun moments with instant pictures the size of a postage stamp, using either sticky or nonsticky film, then let your creativity go wild. Decorate notebooks, folders, invitations, anything you can think of! The more unique, the better. These mini-pictures are ideal for sharing and trading with your friends. The possibilities are endless, so be sure to stock up on plenty of extra film. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great little camera
This little instant camera is easy enough for my 5 year old grand daughter to use. Takes nice little pictures for the kids to carry around in their pockets. I got it for my husband but the kids found out how much fun it was to use and snatched up all the pictures and took them home. Makes a great little gift.

5-0 out of 5 stars Fun camera for all ages!
I read all the reviews and don't know why people don't think this is a fun camera! I'm a mom with little kids, I have a digital camera, an SLR, a point-n-shoot, a camcorder and now this I-zone - it's just plain fun to have. Oh, and I scrapbook too. This design is sleeker & easier to use than the original model - not so many parts poking out. I spent [money] for the camera at [a local discount store] & 3 pack of regular film is less than [money] there too ([money] more for sticky film.) So for instant photos - that price can't be beat. I used them as party favors at my 4 year old daughter's party - it was a hit! I can see us using it at school or any kid function. Photos are clear, note: instructions say it works best with photos taken 2 to 4 ft away from subject...with the small size of the photo you want it for close-ups anyway. I completely agree with the other reviews from "Neat little camera-April '03 and Fun!!!-Feb '02" I've found accessories (tiny photo album w/clip-on and magnet frames shaped like water splashes, photo key chains)on clearance at Ritz Camera and Wolf Camera stores...more items to go with this cool camera. I recommend getting it & just having some fun!

4-0 out of 5 stars Neat little camera
I bought this camera to take pictures of my toddler. The size of the pictures makes them great for scrapbooking, especially with the sticky film. I also bought this camera for my niece. I think it is great fun to have the instant satisfaction in a compact little photo. The photo quality is pretty good, but I'm still experimenting with indoor photos verses outdoor photos. One feature that I think is great is the flash. You set the flash, and once you take the picture the camera turns off. This is a great way to save the battery. I read some comments that the film is expensive, but at around 5.00 a box you get 12 pics that you don't have to get developed. Seems like a good deal to me.

2-0 out of 5 stars Not Worth It
The Polaroid i-zone camera was definately not worth the money I spent on it. The pictures are so tiny you can barely make out what's in them, plus the film is sooo expensive. If your willing to spend all your money on film then I guess it's an okay camera, but it's not even that much fun to use.

2-0 out of 5 stars Rip off
While the camera works fine, the film is so expensive that it is difficult to refill. This is not recommended as a gift, especially for younger people, to whom the ads seem to be aimed. ... Read more

Cool!
Once I saw this camera I wanted it! I have it now it is the coolest camera from polaroid! The camera is cool even the film is cool if you had to do a report with pictures this is what you need!If you want to have fun this is what you need less crapy more quality!

I-Zone Rocks!

4-0 out of 5 stars LOVE IT!!
This camera is SO awesome. My friend got one and then I did. I'm glad she suggested it to me. It's so fun. Just shoot it and... VOILA... the picture coes right out of the camera! It is so fun to play around with. The only egative thing about it is the film costs a LOT and you only get so many film sticks. Other than that, this is a really cool product. I would DEFINETLY add this to my wish list.

4-0 out of 5 stars I LOVED IT!!
The sleek and compact size is totally awesome for those "I wish I had my camera" moments. The only dissappointment was that sometimes the pics don't come out, like they will have an exposed streak in them. This only happened to me 2 times out of a whole bunch of rolls of film, and the other let down was the film is OUTRAGOUSLY EXPENSIVE!! It comes to almost a dollar a picture!!! i was like OOOMMMMGGG!

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Teen Pleaser!
I bought this camera for my nephew and he LOVES it! It allows him to take a picture and use it as a sticker to decorate his personal things. He takes pictures of his cousins that he doesn't get to see very often and sticks them on his school books, where he can see them everyday. It also will make a great locker decorator. I think it's a really great idea! He has made magnets out of the pictures too. ... Read more

This is a very, very fun camera, it takes really cute pictures and looks great also. The pictures are surprisingly good concidering they are only a little bit larger than a stamp. Amazon.com Review

Polaroid's i-zone pocket cameras produce tiny, high-quality Polaroid pictures about the size of a frame of 35mm film (or your average postage stamp). The i-zones use either sticky or nonsticky instant film, so you can put your pictures in a frame or stick them onto your notebook or portable CD/MP3 player. While the cameras all have the same funky oblong plastic design, they are available in a variety of interesting color schemes. The camera turns itself off automatically after each shot to conserve battery power.

Loading the camera is as easy as dropping the film cartridge into the back of the camera and closing it back up. The trickiest part is remembering to pull the film tab out in one fluid motion, without stopping--exactly like most other Polaroids. When you expose a shot and pull out the film, you get something that looks like a Band-Aid, with an image in the middle and extra paper on both ends. Just clip the extra paper off with a pair of scissors and you have your final product. Be careful not to cut into the actual photo, as you don't want to give the caustic paste inside a chance to seep out and get on your fingers.

There are three exposure settings on the i-zone--indoors (with flash), outdoor/sunny, and outdoor/cloudy. Overall, the camera is probably best for subjects within two to eight feet, although we took pictures of downtown buildings that turned out pretty well. The outdoor/sunny setting requires bright sun directly on the subject for a good exposure. Even if it isn't cloudy, try using the outdoor/cloudy setting if the subject is in shadow or if it is early or late in the day when the sunlight isn't at full strength. The flash seems to work best from about four to five feet away.

The best part is figuring out what to do with the mini photos once you've created them. The options seem to be limitless, from decorating cell phones to using them as key chains, putting them in mini frames, or making refrigerator magnets. These cameras are affordable, simple to use, and a lot of fun. --Walt Opie ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Polaroid I-Zone Camara
This camara was really fun to use and I had fun with it for a while. But unless you are living in a college dorm or somewhere else where you can use the pictures to do all the great stuff on the commercials,(Would anyone really do that anyway?)it is really no use. My camara also ran out of batteries very often, so all the pictures I took indoors, when the flash did not work, were ruined (plus the film is definetly not cheap). Don't get me wrong the camara is fun to use, but you need the right time to use it, or else you will end up with a pile of stickers sitting on the desk in your room, like me. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Fun
This is a cool little camera, but it's a good thing it comes with an intro pack of film..out of the 6 that I took, only 3 came out because I didn't pull the film out right away. The instructions don't really say this, they just have illustrations, it would be nice if polaroid had specified this. If you're ordering off of amazon, definitely pick up some film, you'll need it.

3-0 out of 5 stars It's a great camera, but one bad thing almost ruins it all
the CAMERA is great, but the film costs almost $1.00 PER picture, plus the pictures are about the size of the cotton on a bandage. If your'e a child, then I'd advise you to get a normal camera, not everything has to be instant.Pro: it's instant Con: film costs alot. normal camera pro: film doesn't cost alot Con: is'nt instant and may take quite a few days to arrive.

1-0 out of 5 stars Not like other polaroids
this was abig disappointment. The photos do not come out automatically like our regular Polaroid. This was a birthday present for my daughter and the first time out she pulled and three photos came straight out and did not tear off in between. I thoguht she'd be taking photos and sticking them everywhere, but the thing is gathering dust in a drawer somewhere.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great gift!
This simple little camera will be a huge hit at weddings, parties, goofy weekends hanging out with friends and family, and everything in between. I have a silver izone myself but gave 2 of these clear red ones for Christmas: fun and festive presents that I know will get lots of use. It would also be a wonderful gift for Valentine's Day, not only because of it's hot fireball colour, but because you and your honey can use it to record all kinds of happy moments together all year 'round.

4-0 out of 5 stars Camera's Great - Film Doesn't Stick
The camera is great for kids! Easy and fun to use. The camera should come with more detailed instructions on peeling the back off of the film to get it to stick. We've gone through roll and haven't figured it out yet. It is a fun camera for the price. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Maybe the beginning of a legendary junk camera
If you like the quirky pictures which a Holga, Diana, or other cameras produce; you will like this. I was originally angry at the poor quality of images as I wanted to use the camera for professional insurance work. But....I let it set in a drawer for six months and got it back out.
I experimented with it and got some interesting surreal results which I made into works of art with PhotoShop. This toy camera may be the beginning of another legendary junk camera.

5-0 out of 5 stars Polaroid Max Digital Camera and MP3
This camera looks good and takes quality pictures and it's easy to set up.

It's upgradable with its Compactflash card, and it plays MP3s. What more do you want for the money.

Its not the best camera, its not the best MP3 player. But its strength is combinacity.

Its you get it that 1st thiing to do is get a larger Mem Card (you need this if you want to play MP3s. 16mb standard wont cut it) And if you upgreade the headphones, The sound quality is greatly increased.

5-0 out of 5 stars VERY COOL
This camera is very good for beginners. I enjoyed playing with the LCD because it handled very good. The Mp3 quality is ok but......its the best.....I took lots of pictures and they turned out good...if you aren't going to take pictures that are far away then this is a good camera. The zoom is what is lacking! ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Great digital camera at this price-point
I have had this camera for several weeks and have taken almost 100 pictures so far on the original batteries (most with flash).
PROS: good contrasty images (maybe a bit too much at times);
sharp enough for 5x7 inch prints if Impressions software is used to sharpen (at default setting);
quite accurate color balance with or without flash (better than an Agfa CL18 I tried);
can take close-ups to about 18 inches;
DOES work fine with Windows 98 S.E., my parallel port scanner and USB printer, and I can also use HP PhotoSmart program to download images from the camera as well;
very inexpensive to purchase (if you subtract the cost of the included Instant camera and film).
CONS: narrow flash range for proper exposure (approx 4.5 to 7.5 feet: you can improvise a flash reduction filter for closer. I use a polarizer filter over the lens for this purpose: you can add a 'slave' flash unit for farther);
No add-on memory possible (max number of stored pictures varies from 16 to 18 at 640x480, dependent on detail contained in pictures; can only be deleted from camera memory with Photo Impression 2000 software);
hard to find a small carrying bag that fits snugly;
really need other photo manipulation software for certain changes, e.g. rotation of image (I use one from my scanner);
you must have a free serial mouse port (get a PS/2 mouse).

3-0 out of 5 stars Camera is good and excellent for the money - but, don't drop
I loved the camera and I love it more now that I've purchased a Mustek which is going back. Just be careful - don't drop it! The batteries burn out very quickly and it would be great if it came with some kind of adapter.

5-0 out of 5 stars camera has been highly underrated
`for being a dual camera it does what it says it does the only catch is you MUST use duracell batteries or the unit will NOT work...alot of people do not know this and therefore think the camera is faulty...its not....it takes wonderful digital pictures...for being a one focus lense......

2-0 out of 5 stars Battery drainer
This camera takes okay pics for the $, but it drains batteries really fast!!... I think I took about 15 pics with brand new batteries and already the batteries were drained.

1-0 out of 5 stars terrible quality, even for the price
i wouldn't recommend this one, not even for the price... the sticky film feature is kind of fun, but the digital camera is not good at all. it's virtually impossible to take pictures inside- they either come out way too dark so that you can't even decipher what it's supposed to be, or WAY too bright and over exposed, bleaches out every thing. the software that it comes with is not bad though, and the whole thing is self explanatory and very simple to use. ... The Polaroid 4000 DPI scanner is designed for the professional who demands businesslike efficiency, with high resolution and excellent image quality, from a film scanner. The Polaroid 4000 is adapted for 35mm film in strip or slide format (with an optional accessory, it will also accept APS film). It is a 36-bit film scanner with an optical resolution of 4,000 x 4,000 dpi, and dynamic range of 3.4. All these advantage tally up to premium quality and resolution. IQA imaging technology automatically analyzes and color-corrects your scan, reducing editing time. Combining excellent resolution with fast performance, single-pass sensor technology, and acute image quality, Polaroid has designed an impressive, easy-to-use scanner.

Top-quality output is paramount in the design of the Polaroid 4000. It automatically eliminates surface imperfections such as dust and scratches. Furthermore, you'll find an impressive list of features, including split-screen preview, automatic image sizing, and saving-scan settings. Crisp clean colors and good tonality are central to Polaroid's design. Two more notable characteristics include precise image cropping that permits working with smaller sections of an image while still identifying recognizable detail, and an automatic advance of a six-image film strip or four-image mounted slide holder.

The PolaColor Insight Pro software included with the product provides a simple interface and a tool for basic and advanced scanning tasks, compatible with both PC and Mac. You can save your images on the PC in TIFF and/or BMP formats, or on the Macintosh in TIFF, PSD, and/or JPEG file formats. 4-0 out of 5 stars Good quality, very high price
Despite dramatic improvements in digital photography, film is still preferred by many photographers. For them, the Polaroid SprintScan 4000 (...) combines the highest resolution in a desktop film scanner with fast performance, excellent image quality, and a remarkably easy-to-use interface.

The SprintScan is a 36-bit film scanner with an optical resolution of 4,000 by 4,000 ppi and dynamic range of 3.4. By comparison, the top resolution of the Nikon SuperCoolScan (...) is 2,700 by 2,700 ppi, with a dynamic range of 3.2.

Matte-black and compact, the SprintScan comes with a SCSI-2 interface, a cable, a controller board, and AdvanSys's Super SCSI setup utilities. Also included are two carriers for 35-mm strips and slides; an optional APS film adapter is available.

The unit also ships with a quick-start guide and a single page with instructions for installing under Windows NT. The main documentation is a 74-page PDF file. Though useful for novices, the documentation lacks detailed explanations and scan tips for pros.

Setup and installation are relatively simple, so long as you follow the recommended sequence of events. For instance, you must insert the film carrier after (not before) the driver loads, or the computer "loses" the SCSI connection.

Although the Mac version can be installed as a Photoshop plug-in, the PC version is not Twain-compliant, so you can't scan directly into any application. Also, no provisions are supplied for creating scripts, saving images in 12-bit color, or preserving customized settings as default values.

Scanning with the SprintScan is fast and easy. The PolaColor Insight interface is intuitive and offers an impressive variety of manual and automatic tools.

The SprintScan took only 20.4 seconds to scan a 12.8MB slide. But this blazing speed is somewhat tempered by a 49.5-second auto-calibration routine and by the time needed to name and save a file and then open it in an application. Image quality is excellent and holds up even when magnified. Colors are accurate and tonality is very good.

Though the Polaroid Sprint Scan 4000 has occasional limitations, its image quality is superb. The scanner leapfrogs over the competition in price, ease of use, and most important, high-resolution scans. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars updated: quick and easy
Updates to the below: After several weeks and taking shots both inside and out, I'm finding that my inside shots *sometimes* (maybe 1 in 5) come out too dark. It seems that the automatic setting for the flash sometimes incorrectly adjusts the flash to the light level. I might need to set the flash to "on" instead of "auto". Otherwise, the camera is doing great.

I got this camera yesterday so this review will be my first impressions.

1. I was a little confused by the description on Amazon as to whether I would get a 2 MB or 8 MB SmartMedia card. I still don't know but the product description is correct in saying that in the highest resolution you can get 12 pictures. Due to the compression used, I'm just not sure what amount of space that means I have.

2. This package (PDC-640 FL Digital Camera Kit) has everything you might need - AC adapter, TV cable, serial cable, batteries, FlashPath reader, case, wrist strap, PhotoMAX software. It would make a great gift for anyone not a photo expert.

3. The FlashPath reader and PhotoMAX software in particular make it very easy to move your pictures from the camera to a PC. The PhotoMAX software is not a full-fledged image editing application but it can add text, rotate, change contrast or brightness or hue, and organize into photo albums. The software seems to be designed for non-experts.

4. The camera is mostly automatic. Just point and shoot. My first few attempts inside came out very dark but it is possible I didn't have the flash set correctly. After some tinkering of the settings, the pictures came out fine. So it does take a little getting used to all the buttons and settings and how you maneuver through the menus. Still, I hardly looked at the quick start card and after a bit I was doing fine.

5. I got this camera partly because I don't really need anything fancy or with super high resolution. I will mainly take shots and send them to my relatives via email. And for email you don't want to send a really big file like you get with the megapixel cameras. This camera's resolution is plenty fine for my purposes.

So my first impression is... this is great! Just what I need. Quick and easy to use! And at a good price!

3-0 out of 5 stars Ok for the digital beginner
Being new to the digital camera world, I was looking for something that was basic, and relatively inexpensive. This looked like a good deal; it didn't require a lot of extras to read the picture, and the price was right. The camera does have a lot of great features, such as the view screen and the ease in attaching it to the computer. The picture quality, when using the highest resolution, is good, but the card will only hold 12 pictures on that setting. If you take pictures on the lowest resolution, you can get 96 pics on the card, but the quality is just ok.
The card is easy to remove and load into the included 3.5" floppy to load into the computer, and the photo software is pretty easy to install. The software allows you to edit and send the photos, and to add special effects to your pics.
The biggest drawback to this camera is the fact Poloroid doesn't sell additional picture cards that can be loaded into the camera. The website wasn't much help and when I wrote to Customer Service to find out if there was any way to buy extras, I never received an answer. The other problem with the picture card is that every time you transfer pictures to the computer, you lose a little more space on the card, and aren't able to "clean" the card using a wiping program.
If you aren't going to be able to download the pictures for some time (such as on a long trip), you will need to set the camera on the lowest resolution in order to get more than 12 pictures on the card. The other alternative is to bring the old standby film camera so that if the card is full, you can still get the pictures.
It is great to be able to see the photos before you print them, and choose the ones to keep. I loved the fact it it is really easy to get started using it, and it doesn't require a card reader to load the pictures from the camera to the computer. It does eat batteries, though, and you may want to buy a battery recharger so that you always have fresh ones.
For the casual user, this is a good way to get started in the "digital" world; it's fine for folks who just want to send photos to Mom over the Internet. If you like taking pictures or want to use this when traveling, you may want to spend a few more bucks to find a digital camera that has replaceable picture cards, so you can carry extras. Many of the more expensive cameras have cabling that will allow you to directly attach the camera to the computer, so you may not need to have a card reader.

Overall, this camera is easy and fun. But do your homework before buying it. For sending pictures to Mom, this is great. If you want to get into some serious photography, spend more money.

1-0 out of 5 stars slow and downright terrible
just let me name four things that make this camera the WORST in the world: 1.you would miss most of the great photographic opportunities because the flash has to recharge, and it takes FOREVER!!!! 2.how do you get, say, a natural history photograph at the zoo if it doesn't have a zoom lens!? don't be fooled by what ebay says about the lens, they are just trying to make money off you! 3.the SUPER fast shutter speed doesn't allow ANY dim light, whatsoever into the camera, if you even tried to take a picture in dim light the picture would just turn out BLACK! 4.the software is totally screwy (with some things) like the brightness system, you set it to a certain brightness, but you dont like it, so you keep tweaking the brightness and before long it is all white!

that is the end, but just remember one thing, this is the one camera that you don't want to buy!

1-0 out of 5 stars Made me want to rip my hair out
Ok, the camera takes great pictures. However, they're absolutely useless because the software that comes with the camera is terrible. Now I have a load of pictures that are just stuck in my camera. I cannot get them to come up on the PC no matter what I do, and I can't seem to figure out why. If you use anything other than windows 95, the Photomax software won't even work. Buying this camera was probably the biggest waste of money I've ever done.

3-0 out of 5 stars its nice but
very nice camera, but dont try to take pictures and expect to look good enlarged to to the 640x680 pics, also had a problems with shuting off and uploading images, seems to be problems with this camera. other than that not bad for the price. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars PDC 640 is a good value for family and friends.
If your not looking for a wonderful image, and you want general features and semi-large disk size, this camera is for you. I have used the old and new PDC camera for basic things like family dinners, holidays, and vacations, and I get the perfect picture everytime. It allows you to choose 5 different quality settings, for the distance and quality you prefer, and choosing the lower quality settings will allow you to hold more pictures on your disk at one time. So in conclusion, the PDC from Polaroid is a good all around value, for the not so professional photographer.

4-0 out of 5 stars Not bad for the price!
First of all if you want this camera, you are probably looking to save some money. I bought it for only $99 at Wal-mart. Although it isnt the greatest camera, it is definitely worth the money, perfect for new users. It takes excellent pictures with the right lighting and if your kind of close up. It takes a few practice tries. But all in all, it is easy to use, easy to set up, easy to put in the computer. I would recommend this to anyone buying a digital for the first time or for casual use.

1-0 out of 5 stars DO NOT BUY THIS!
Since the day I got this camera it never worked right. At first it was just the fact that the serial connection did not work. So for awhile it took great pictures and they printed very nice! Then it started draining the batteries. Then it just stopped working. Polaroid has done nothing to help me. Not since the day I bought it. Then I also went and bought another polaroid camera and it doesnt work either. And I inquired with polaroid again, and they still haven't helped me! DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY! The are horrid and do not care about their customers. And their cameras dont work. There have been hundreds of these cameras (this particular model) on ebay that are non working and being sold for parts! As is mine! BEWARE!

3-0 out of 5 stars no probs here
i bought this camera a few days ago and already put it through its paces,i have had no problems with picture quality for a [reasonably priced} camera,
it doe's blur when someone moves as do most really [ reasonably priced]
i bought it only for personal use to take pics of family and friends and it doe's me fine
i took a few pics at max res and they came out very good in my opinnion.
like i say for a [reasonably priced] cam it does the job, but if your looking for the semi pro cams then you'll pay closer to [money amount] or more
so basically it all depends what you want to use the camera for

1-0 out of 5 stars 1 star is not low enough
I have had this so called camera for 4 months, tried every possible setting to stop an over exposed light condition. This causes faded pictures. No wonder Polaroid is going broke. This may have a flash, but it is totally worthless. I have a cheap intel CS630 that will take great pictures, just point and shoot. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Hey, it's film!
Got a good price, I'm happy. Film was fine.

4-0 out of 5 stars For the artist in you
Let's be honest... this film isn't great. Reviewers who are praising its "GREAT COLOR!" and clarity may be confused with Polacolor peel-apart film, which yields extremely high quality. This stuff, on the other hand, is consumer-grade and is worse than 35mm film in these respects.

That's why I love it. While it isn't accurate, this film's color reproduction says "Polaroid" all over it. That really adds a certain dimension to your photos. Especially if you are photographing more "serious" subjects (i.e., not just family/friends), the polaroid has a way of lightening it up and making your photography look more nonchalant. It also "ages" your film for you, giving the photographs an old, faded feel right from the start.

If you've got an old polaroid camera lying around the house, take it out, by a pack of this stuff, and experiment. It's a lot of fun.

3-0 out of 5 stars Love the pics
Its great for the convenience especially if youre like me and you dont want to wait for developing time however if you are travelling I would suggest a 35 mm cam instead because pictures could get ruined in packing and I find the picture quality to be a little dark As opposed to some 35mm that have a clearer brighter picture quality.

4-0 out of 5 stars Easy Film
This is great film. The picture comes out clear and perfect everytime. I haven't had a bad picture yet. It's also easy to load into the camera. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to do it either. The instant film is very good because it's comes out immediately not five days or an hour later.

5-0 out of 5 stars Awesome Film
The Polaroid Spectra Platinum is the best Instant Film I've ever used.

I use this film for my Polaroid Colorshot USB Digital Printer. What I see on the screen is what I get on the film. It is the most perfect transfer of digital imaging I have ever seen.

Printing digitally on this film has it's advantages. No need to worry about running out of ink. The film is instant. The film is resistant to water because of it's built-in protective coating of plastic. The image reproduces very quickly. Whereas a ink jet printer would take minutes...

I also use the film for my Polaroid Spectra 1200si which I love as well. The photo is just as sharp as on regular film. The color is perfectly balanced and the image quality is extremely sharp.

This is a great film by the great company Polaroid for either instant traditional of instant digital photography. I would recommend it to anyone on the planet.

4-0 out of 5 stars Polaroid's best integral film yet
When Polaroid introduced the SX-70 in 1972, its self-processing "integral" film represented a major backwards step for instant color-print materials. The need for the dyes to migrate through a titanium dioxide layer before reaching the receptor sheet caused a significant loss of sharpness, as well as a creamy "bloom" in areas of fine detail against a light background (eg, bare branches against the sky).

Polaroid has not been able to make an integral film that matches the overall quality of their peel-apart materials. The latter have detail and a vivid edge sharpness the integral films will probably never achieve. But the current Platinum film is unquestionably the best of its type.

Color rendition is noticeably improved. Platinum film can tolerate direct comparison with the Macbeth color chart without suffering acute embarrasment. The tonal scale has been lengthened without a loss of saturation. (The 150-speed Time-Zero material has a noticeably shorter scale, often producing excessively contrasty prints.) Sharpness is better than any previous integral film (including the 150-speed), and the "bloom" is lower than ever.

Nevertheless, Polaroid's integral materials do not match the overall quality of modern color-negative films. The latter have multiple layers and complex chemical interactions among the layers that allow both a wide tonal scale and high saturation. It's unlikely Polaroid films will ever be able to perform these chemical feats, so the gap between conventional and instant-picture quality will continue to widen.

On the other hand, Polacolor (both peel-apart and integral) has a quality rarely seen in negative films -- it looks almost three-dimensional. There's depth -- an almost-palpable "roundness" -- you don't get from Kodacolor or Fujicolor. The latter look flat by comparison.

A note about processing... Although Polaroid integral films give good results over a wide temperature range, the highest saturation and cleanest colors occur in the high 70s or low 80s. (I discovered this when I threw several developing prints on top of a warm amplifier in a cool room. The pattern of the amplifier's vent holes appeared in the print, with the areas over the holes noticeably more vivid.) A warm Spring or not-too-hot Summer day gives the brightest colors.

If you haven't taken Polaroid pictures in a long time, try the Platinum film. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars great deal!
This is an exceptional deal for Polaroid film, which usually goes for about $15-18 per pack of 10 pictures around where I live. Be advised that these will not be the BEST pictures you have ever seen, but they are not bad for instant pictures, especially with my Polaroid Express one-step, which you can also get for a really really great price on amazon...
