5-0 out of 5 stars Pricey but worth it for me.
I bought the Roomba Elite Pro which includes 2 virtual wall units. They work exactly as advertised. Roomba doesn't go across the wall. I can push my mess to one side of the room, set up this virtual wall, and let Roomba run. When it's done, I push the mess to the other side of the room (which is now clean) and let Roomba clean the other half of the room. I can clean the apartment without having to clean-up first. Now, only if iRobot can come up with something that put stuffs back on the shelves....

One annoying thing is, it doesn't come with the 2 DD batteries required. It's not that expensive to include two cheapo non-alkaline batteries with the unit, consider how expensive they sell this thing for. People don't generally stock DD batteries. When we unpack it, we want to be able to test it out "right away".

I FIND IT WORKS FINE ,AND IT KEEPS THE VACCUM IN THE ROOM,YOU WANT IT TO STAY IN.

Overall, YES this thing works with Roomba with no doubt! But you gotta consider the price is way to high for just a virtual wall unit..... ... Read more

This thermometer displays the current indoor and outdoortemperature at the same time or can be set to display the maximum orminimum indoor and outdoor temperatures. No matter what is beingdisplayed, the unit will continue to memorize temperature highs andlows and can post them at the touch of a button. An internal sensordetects the indoor temperature while a sensor probe on a 12-foot cableprovides an accurate outdoor reading; the temperature is sampled every10 seconds in both locations. Temperatures are displayed in eitherFahrenheit or Celsius and measure ranges from 32 to 122 degrees F (0 to50 degrees C) indoors and -58 to 158 degrees F (-50 to 70 degrees C)outdoors. With its jumbo display, this thermometer is easy to seefrom across a room. Amazon.com Review

Big on cleanliness, but short on storage? The 12-amp Hoover Fold Away solves the problem by outfitting a full-size upright with a collapsible handle. Folded up, the vacuum stands just 24-1/2 inches high, so it is easy to store in cupboards and closets with shelving. It's suitable for bare floors as well as carpets and comes with automatic tool conversion for cleaning above the floor. The Fold Away has three adjustable nozzle heights, a 13-inch cleaning path, and a revolving brush roll with an edge-cleaning design. Dirt collection is conveniently bagless, and the handle-style cup release makes for simple emptying. The cup's tap-clean pleated dust filter captures 100 percent of dust particles and 99.98 percent of ragweed and pollen.

The Fold Away's compact structure does come with some adaptations--the power switch, cord hooks, and attachments are all closer to the ground than on other models. Once you get used to it, though, conversion to attachment cleaning is quick and simple, and the set of tools is thorough--an extension wand, a crevice tool, a dusting brush, and an upholstery cleaner. Other nice details include a headlight, stair-cleaning handle, exhaust filter, and pair of quick-release cord hooks. Hoover backs the vacuum with a one-year warranty. --Emily Bedard ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Average Vacuum - Better choices out there!
I had one of these vacuums for a very short time. I have 3 dogs and 2 cats, along with various other small critters (ferrets, rats, hedgehogs) and 2 horses. So my house tends to get pretty dusty and pet hair is all over the place. This vacuum might work better for someone who is a little easier on their carpet than I am.

Mine constantly clogged with pet hair and human hair (up until 7 months ago I had very long hair), and it would lose suction easily. I found myself having to clean out the roller ALL the time, and it became more work to clean out the vacuum all the time than it was to vacuum the house!

I invested in a Dyson vacuum, and I haven't looked back since. While the price is much higher, the Dyson is MUCH better for pet owners! This hoover would be decent maybe for a petless person living in an apartment, or someone with no kids. Anyone who has to use their vacuum a LOT will probably not be happy, but if you're looking for a fairly inexpensive bagless vacuum, this is a decent choice.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great for pets
I had another Hoover that was 2 years old and caught of fire. I found this one for 69.99 and thought I would give it a try. It has a much better suction than my old Hoover. I did one small section of my bedroom (5 x 5) and filled the canister with dog hair and dust. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because you have to make sure the onboard hose is securely attached to the output hose on the vacuum itself to make sure you are getting the maximum suction. It is a little messy to empty, but I just dump it outside in a trash bag and I am done.

3-0 out of 5 stars Wish I had Waited
A good deal at $59.99, especially after I paid $84.14 to Amazon and now feel like a sucker.

1-0 out of 5 stars Not the vacuum I hoped for
I recently purchased this vacuum cleaner since it was fold away. I also liked the idea that it was bagless. I noticed the first time I used it that I was vacuuming the same spot over and over to get it clean. It wasn't picking up the minor stuff (i.e. lent), much less anything else. I tried cleaning the filter and everything else the manual recommends to improve suction. Nothing worked! I am now shopping for a new vacuum since this one is terrible. If you want a vacuum that sucks in a good way, this isn't the one.

5-0 out of 5 stars This vacuum really sucks!
Of course, that's exactly what a great vacuum is supposed to do!!!

The fold down handle is a lot sturdier than I had imagined, and it picks up EVERYTHING! The filter has to be checked occasionally, but that's true of almost all bagless systems.

Amazon.com Product Description

Offering abundant features and more than a dash of elegance at an entry-level price, Onkyo's DV-SP301 DVD player is built to demanding audio and video specifications. It offers everything from surround sound outputs to high-resolution audio/video DACs (digital-to-analog converters) and MP3 music compatibility on homemade recordable CDs.

Whether your living room is currently home to an HDTV or you're merely thinking of "someday," the DV-SP301 stands ready to deliver the full potential of your DVDs. Progressive scanning, referred to as 480p for the number of horizontal lines that compose the video image, creates a picture using twice the scan lines of a conventional DVD picture, giving you higher resolution and sharper images while eliminating nearly all motion artifacts. Component-video outputs, switchable between 480p and standard 480i, help minimize digital and line-scan artifacts on compatible advanced televisions, while composite- and S-video outputs bring compatibility with nearly any set.

For audio, the player's 192 kHz/24-bit digital-to-analog converters, exclusive VLSC (Vector Linear Shaping Circuitry, for smooth digital to analog conversion), and Direct Digital Path wiring (which transfers the digital signal from your discs directly to the output connectors using a high-purity, heavy-duty, shielded cable) deliver clean, precise sound. If you're using an Onkyo or other advanced surround receiver, you can select a high-resolution 96 kHz output sampling frequency (for signals capable of reproducing audio frequencies as high as 48 kHz, such as complex, if inaudible, musical overtones), or choose standard 48 kHz output for other receivers.

Other connections include left/right analog-audio outputs (which can channel audio to Dolby Pro Logic receivers and stereo televisions) and a pair of digital-audio jacks (one each RCA coaxial and Toslink optical) for routing both Dolby Digital and DTS 5.1-channel surround signals to a full-featured audio/video receiver. Unlike most DVD players, the DV-SP301 includes a digital-audio interconnect (coaxial only), so if you're already using a compatible receiver, you'll be truly surround-ready, right out of the box.

What's in the Box
DVD player, remote control, remote batteries, a user's manual, a stereo analog-audio interconnect/composite-video cable, and a coaxial digital-audio interconnect. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars What you need for blending protein and vitamin powders
I have had my sturdy Braun blender for years. I use it to mix protein drinks right in the "jar" or to smooth out a lumpy gravy when I forget to use a whisk.

Most chefs have one of these tools to make smooth sauces and creamy rich gravies. Definately a must have in the modern kitchen.

This is the only tool I have that will adequately blend
my All-One Vitamin Powder into milk and fruit juices.

So, basically, if I didn't have this item, I'd be less
healthy. Great product that lasts for years and years.

~TheRebeccaReview.com

5-0 out of 5 stars charlie sheen endorsed it, so ...
yeah, that was the first time that i ever saw one of these hand blenders - in the movie wall street with charlie sheen, martin sheen and michael douglas.

anyway, this hand blender is amazing.i would not order the one with the whisk - why? because when you put that whisk into a put it spurts the batter all across your kitchen.how much fun is that? not much i tell you.but, having said that, the one with the chopper is ok, but really you are not going to be using it too much.you probably already have a food processor of some sort, and redundency is not something that i like in my kitchen.

so, to review, if you spend more than like 5 minutes in your kitchen get this awesome kitchen tool! ... Read more

I've had my Roomba for over a year, and I don't use it weekly as they suggest (or even bi-weekly) and my filters are falling apart. Backwashing with an air canister hasn't worked, though perhaps this is because my place is INCREDIBLY dusty.

5-0 out of 5 stars The perfect wallet tool box
This card fits perfectly into my wallet and contains all sorts of goodies that come in handy all the time. Just when you think you don't have the tool to do a job, you'll remember you've got this card in your wallter, whip it out, do the job and impress your friends at the same time. A great addition to any do-it-yourselfers wallet. Just make sure you take it out of your wallet before you go through airport security!

2-0 out of 5 stars Looks great, not as functional as desired.
Have had this for years now, with additional gifts at various times. Although I'd expected this to come in quite handy, I have found the scissors and knife not quite up to what I need at the time. (I probably use the tip of a ballpoint pen as well or better.)

4-0 out of 5 stars useful
I have two swiss army knives. I happened across a camper on a hike more than ten years ago, and have been sold on victorinox knives ever since. Now I have a card too. I have had it for a year now and really enjoy it. I carry it in the credit card slot of my PDA wallet and use it often. The camper is a stronger knife but I like this one's portability. The other knife was more than I wanted in my pocket all of the time and this one is just automatically with me. My only complaint is that it lacks the heft and strength of my other knife, but to be portable you go small. I compared it with the spydercard but I like to have more than just one blade available. Hope this helps!

1-0 out of 5 stars Worst of the credit card knives.
There are a number of great credit card knives, (so called because they are when folded the size of a credit card) made by both S.O.G. which makes the "Access card", and Spyderco which makes the "Spydercard". The cost nearly is the same and the others have actual useful blades. This thing is cheap, cheap, cheap incomparison. Do yourself a favor and take a look at those others before buying this one.

4-0 out of 5 stars Swiss Army Card
An invaluable tool, although not flawless. The blade is great for stripping off CD packaging (most use), and always handy to have a pair of scissors, although the scissors cover tends to snap off through use and cannot be re-attached.

The pen, whilst tiny and not that comfortable to use, has proved an assett. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Good Solutions for the Price
After reading so many negative reviews for the Tungsten E hard case, I began looking for other options. My search led me to this accessory pack, which does a decent job at a very affordable price.

The case is semi-rigid ballistic nylon with a nice quality zipper enclosure on three sides. My guess is that it would keep its contents safe from moderate shocks or compression (both flat and on the corners). It's also attractive in a low-profile sort of way. On the inside, there are slots for a few credit cards or ID badges as well as two smaller ones for Palm expansion cards. The only two drawbacks are that the case doesn't lie flat portfolio-style when opened (this may ease up with age) and the only method of securing your Palm to the case is an enclosed Velcro sticker. I've never been a fan of attaching sticky items onto electronics, although the case of my Tungsten E is so ugly I may break my policy.

The multi-function pen is not exactly as pictured - it's much bigger than I expected and unfortunately too big to fit in the case. However, there's a lot of functionality in there: a black pen, a pink (!) highlighter, a mechanical pencil and a Palm Stylus. It's lightweight but almost to the point of feeling cheap and it rattles when you write with it. Plus, the method of selecting which point pops out is a little cumbersome and it's probably only a matter of time before I write on my Palm with highlighter. The packaging includes instructions for replacing the ink and pencil, so at least it promises life beyond the initial cartridges.

Finally, the screen protectors are just that. They work - that's about all you can say. I expect that they'll keep me from freaking out when I inevitably highlight on my screen.

So, while the solutions are far from perfect, you'd be hard-pressed to find a package so all-encompassing or budget-conscious. A must-have for a new Palm user, student, etc. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Good Camera....A little Confusing
I bought this at Officemax for 119.00 2 days ago. I do like the camera in general, But the software is really confusing. It took me a while to figure out how to save edited images and find where the camera saved them. Also the camera is a little confusing. There is alot of stuff cluttering the LCD screen you have to press a button to make it so it is all gone, but when the camera turns on again it is there. Also the delete function is hard. You have to go into the playback mode, then press menu then select delete, then select delete one, then it brings you to a screen displaying all the pictures, find the picture you want press ok to delete, THen press Yes when it asks are you sure. The processing time on the camera is slow. But for 119.00 it is a great deal.

4-0 out of 5 stars A lot of fun if you remember it's a novelty camera
If you are looking for a hi-rez digital camera with lots of bells and whistles and beautiful photos, then you're going to be pretty sore if you purchase the Philips 007 Keyring Camera. If, however, you're looking for something that truly is pocket-size, portable, and a lot of fun to use, then you should be delighted. I was. Claims that this camera can take (or convert to) 1.3 megapixel quality photos are misleading and should simply be disregarded. Pictures are taken at 640x480 vga, which is most definitely low quality but still quite useful for outdoor and close-up photography that you plan to use primarily online. Foreground focus is fairly sharp, although you have to figure out the quirks to the tiny viewfinder, the curvature of which can cause you to shoot higher and more to the left than you might think you are. You also have to watch where you put your thumb. On a toy this small, blotting out half your shot with a finger can happen easily. All in all, as a novelty camera, the Philips is a load of fun, and fans of funky, quirky cameras should be overjoyed.

5-0 out of 5 stars Fantastic, mini portable and wearable camera.
I bought this camera about a month ago and have taken several hundred photographs for my website at http://www.gift-ideas-for-women. So long as I take the photos in bright sunlight they turn out fine. The pictures have turned out so well that I have not even had to use the included software to enhance them. If you are looking for an inexpensive, easy to use camera that recharges while plugged into your PC then this is the camera you want.

3-0 out of 5 stars The on the go point and shoot
It's small, sleek, and cool. You can take it with you where ever you go. No more wishing you had a camera with you when your kid makes a funny face or you get in to an accident. No batteries or memory card to buy. Just plug it in to your usb port to charge and view your PICS. The picture quality is not to bad for the size of the camera. people I've shown it to are actually surprised that pictures that good come from a camera that small. This camera is mainly for outdoor use, as the indoor lighting just doesn't cut it. Pictures taken indoors are very dark and just don't turn out. Even in well lit rooms. I like that the PICS are stored in JPEG format on the camera. They are a small file size and I don't have to convert them. It can hold 400 640x480 PICS at a time on its 64mb of space. You can view the PICS using the software or using windows explorer window. It shows up as a removable drive like a zip drive. I am having some trouble getting the camera to work with Win98, however. It probably works better with WinXP but I have not tried it yet. The camera can be used on a key chain or a connectable necklace. however the connector on the necklace is not durable and leaves you constantly worrying about the camera falling off. The Camera has a nice magnesium case. Unfortunately the plastic usb cover is not connected to the body via a string or something, and can be easily lost when taken off. The camera has three led lights for memory, power, and light sensitivity. The eye piece is a little small and kind of hard to look through. This camera has room for improvement. I think the new usb 2.0 version will be better. This stile of camera has a future with today's on the go life style. This is a small portable point and shoot camera to take with you and capture those unexpected or forgettable moments.

1-0 out of 5 stars Took Ten Pictures Before It Stopped Working
I managed to get about ten pictures out of the thing before it stopped working. Probably still works as a memory key, but $100 for a 64meg memory key is about 3-4x too much. Avoid, avoid, avoid.

3-0 out of 5 stars You get what you should expect for the size
First, if you need a digital camera, don't choose this unit as your first purchase. Get yourself a 2-3 megapixel camera. Second, it's a 640x480 ultra (repeat ULTRA) compact digital camera. Because of the size of the lens, the quality of the pictures are much lower that you'd get with almost any other camera, even at that low of a resolution.

However, it's super portable (smaller than a pack of gum), rechargable via USB, holds 80+ pictures, and is great for taking thumbnails of items for later viewing. Picked mine up on discount elsewhere for $30, which is a deal for anyone who want to always have the opportunity to take small digital pictures. Wait until you can get this cheap. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Very good purchase !
The Kyocera S5R is quite the complete camera. Like one of the other reviews said, it rises above the rest when taking action pictures (for examples, kids in a soccer game). It comes with good software, cables. Very easy to connect to TV and computer. Controls are easy (worst case, a quick read through the reference card should get any one set.) Its only down side is from what I was told from an SME, is the night pictures. So again, I was very happy with my purchase. My pictures from my vacation look really nice. Good luck.

5-0 out of 5 stars speed and quality
I had a 5 megapixel sony that had an optical finder and gave it to my brother when he was visiting because his broke.
I read about the s5r but did not see many owners or reviews or samples.
I took a chance and was pleasantly surprised! I now always have a camera in my pocket.
The camera is fast! and unlimited 5 megapixel pics is more than my 717 can do.
But to keep the camera tiny, the manufacturer decided not to put a fan in the computer bay. (Which explains the heat produced)
This is a little performer that just wants to burn itself up for you.
I am pleasantly surprised at the quality see pbase.com/stefffanovich

3-0 out of 5 stars Good still image but VDO not as good as acvertised
I bought Kyocera S5R mainly because of its capability to record VDO at 640x480 pixel at 30 frames per second until memory filled up. The fast still image capturing at 3 frames per second is an added bonus. Kyocera suggests that high speed SD card should be used , the one with transfer rate about 10 MB/s. I used the Panasonic 256 MB SD card which has just that speed but had never been able to do non-stop shooting until the memory filled. The camera stopped about 1 minute or so , obviously just could not handle large amount of VDO data all at once. When it stopped shooting the red light was blinking several more seconds to show that the data were being processed. Then you have to start shooting again if you want more VDO. In short , it could not do continuous shooting till memory full as advertised.

In general the still images taken by this camera were of really good quality , except in some instances with flash. I wish Kyocera could add the function to adjust the flash , i.e. , low-medium-strong , instead of just one fixed mode which seems to be too strong , many of my shots were overexposed.

The battery life is at best an average or on the lower than average side.

The LCD monitor should have more pixels.

4-0 out of 5 stars A Very Fast Shooter for Catching your Kids
I primarily shoot medium format for portrature so I purchased the Kyocera S5R for the sole purpose of capturing my 5 and 7 year old son and daughter in action. I played around with at least a dozen digital cameras with my biggest gripe being the slow speed in which they operate. Moments with these high energy kids go by very quickly so I needed a camera that was very fast. The 5SR fulfils these needs. The startup time is fast and the shutter lag is nil. These features when combined with the endless 3.5 frames per second shooting means you will never miss that "definative moment."

I can't emphasize enough how incredible endless 3.5 Frames per second is. Imagine your child is at bat or getting ready to smash an overhead...before the ball is near them you just start shooting without having to worry about your "burst" of frames running out. I am having a ball with this camera!!!

The only problem I have encountered is the battery life. If you use a flash (which I hardly do) expect a very short session. For available light photography I get about 150 shots before getting low. I estimate a day at the Zoo would require three of the proprietary batteries Kyocera sells at about $42 a pop.

1-0 out of 5 stars Good camera when it was working
Camera was great for a couple of days; good pictures outdoors, super fast shot-to-shot time, some problems in low light conditions. Easy menus and ergonomics, but beware, some wrong information in the manual.

The fatal problem was that the SD cards kept corrupting after using the camera for any length of time. No matter the brand, speed, or capacity of the card, it happened consistantly and without notice. Turning off the camera to let it "cool" was the only way to get it working again (reset didn't work).

Interestingly, the picture on the LCD always looked great after the shot, but when you reviewed them later, surprise, the pics would be corrupted.

Kyocera support was marginal, got back to me with form emails really. Never did get to talk to a live person. Camera went back, and it would be tough to convince me to buy a Kyocera product again; definatly not in the same league as the big boys (canon, nikon, sony, etc) ... Read more

The LCD's backlit display assures the best readability. This radio also doubles as a digital alarm clock with snooze feature and AM/FM radio with 10 presets. The WR-196T runs on three AA batteries (not included) or on an included AC power adapter. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Nice Radio
I bought one for my brother a year ago. Works great. Only alerts you to weather in your area because you tell it what area you live in by area number. I plan to buy one for my sister this year. (...) WR196T replaced (the earlier recalled version) WR122.

1-0 out of 5 stars Hard to Program
This product has the most difficult programming instructions I have ever seen. Even changing the clock time (which you have to do 2X per year) proves to be a major challenge requiring the manual. The manual also must have been translated from Chinese as it is also difficult to understand...even for someone like myself with a technical degree! I tossed the product out after 6 months.

1-0 out of 5 stars Looks good, works cheap
Sorry everyone, I really wanted to rate this high, ... It came with no antenna, standard. Without an antenna, it picks up few neighboring countie warnings, and lousy radio reception. The radio stinks, sounds cheap, like a ... 4 transistor I had 40 yrs ago. Hard to program (I work with computers), hard to operate. The alarm works half the time, probably due to no antenna. Save your money.

1-0 out of 5 stars Disapointed
I purchased this product right before spring because of severe weather. It worked OK for about a month and then it no longer would give warnings.
I reprogrammed it and it didn`t help. I e-mailed Oregon Scientific and I got an E-Mail back asking for my imformation and they would give me an address to send it to for testing. Never heard from them again.
I then purchased a Midland 74-200 which was cheaper and works great, was easier to program and came with a full year warranty oppossed to so called 90 day from the Oregon Scientific.
Don`t Buy This Product. As I was you`ll regret it.

2-0 out of 5 stars Oregon Scientific Could Have Done Much Better
I ordered this unit because I wanted one radio that would both receive AM and FM, and also provide weather alerts. Surprisingly, the WR196T is one of the few on the market that combines these features. I ended up returning it to Amazon after 24 hours, for the following reasons: ... Second, the instructions were poor. Despite all of the functions to master, Oregon Scientific took the cheap approach of trying to condense all of the instructions onto a single large sheet of paper, which is folded into sections. The instructions aren't very clear either. Third, the controls are far from user-friendly. You'd think that the "Radio On" control would turn it on. Nope. A fact I only figured out after initially deciding I had a lemon. (I may be a bit off on this--the unit is already in the return mail so I don't have it in front of me to double-check the control). Fourth, the sound quality is mediocre. Not a big factor for the weather radio transmissions, but a problem while listening to AM/FM. Apparently the slim design, while high-tech, kept them from using a more adequate speaker. Fifth, the sensitivity of the radio, even for standard AM and FM, was mediocre. Local stations were weak unless I carefully positioned the unit. Sixth, the unit includes a clock radio/alarm function, probably because the design engineer saw that the chip set could handle it at little extra cost. For my purposes, this functionality only further complicated an already hard to use unit. I have a clock radio next to my bed; I don't need it in a unit like this. Seventh and last, I specifically wanted to listen to a station in the not-overly-new extended AM band, which runs from 1605-1710 KHz. Every recent car radio covers those frequencies. The WR196T stops at 1600 KHz. Would it have cost them that much to extend the unit to cover the full AM band? The only positive I can offer is that the unit includes a digital thermometer, which can be somewhat useful. I hope that Oregon Scientific sends their engineers back to the design consoles to build a better unit--they'd find that it would sell! ... Read more
