Amazon.com Product Description An optional long-life lithium-ion battery (HP model C8222A) supplies power for 350 pages per charge; with the battery installed, the printer still weighs just 4.5 pounds. HP provides a one-year hardware warranty, and full online and phone technical support for 12 months. What's in the Box Features Reviews (7)
I also have used my HP 450ci to print almost anything you can think of - text docs on regular mid-weight paper ("new" or recycled, both work fine), 8.5x11 photo paper, 4x6 photo paper, transparencies, labels, even t-shirt iron-on transfer sheets - not a single problem. Hope I didn't just jinx myself! :) Seriously though - if you're looking for a portable printer that's rugged enough to really travel, but also looks slick sitting on your desk or pulling it out of your bag in a client's office , the HP 450ci is THE way to go. IMHO. And no, I don't work for HP! I actually am not a big fan & have NOT liked some of their other products, but the 450ci hasn't let me down.
The good: Printer prints decently and quickly. Printer is pleasing in shape and compact. The bad: Printer does not handle cardstock (fairly common deficiency here) or full size photo paper. The ugly: Printer suffers NUMEROUS jams (to the point of being unuseable) - paper is pulled in approx an inch, jams, then software comms problems begin. I have seen the problem discussed in a number of online forums. This apparently is a design problem relating to the pinch plate which may have been corrected in printers made after July 2003. If you are in warranty, HP will fix the problem but if you are like me and the problem occurs after the warranty expires fixing this design defect is on you. Bottom line: Before buying: 1. Make the seller take the printer out of the box so you can check the production date (only located on the serial tag on the bottom of the printer) (how many vendors will do this?). 2. Verify that "no kidding" this design defect has been corrected. Postscript: I have been highly satisfied with every HP printer I have had until this one. This printer has not yet gone through a single complete ink cartridge and has never run card stock or photo paper. I do not want to deal with repairs so today I scavenged the ink from this one - threw away the 450CI - and installed the ink in my new HP PSC1350. The jury is out on the PSC1350 for now.
LONG TERM UPDATE: Well, as it turns out, my short term enthusiam and 5 star rating for this printer has been dashed by on going problems -- primarily paper jams. I now own two of these printers, one I use while the other is being repaired under warranty (I bought an extended warranty). Losing confidence in HP, my G85xi all-in-one just quit also (won't feed paper). Repair costs as much as a new all-in-one. ... Read more

Print speeds can be increased with the addition of the optional HP no. 56 black print cartridge. The PhotoSmart 7760 handles a wide range of media types and sizes, and comes with a dedicated 20-sheet 4-by-6-inch photo paper tray plus a 100-sheet standard media input tray to easily handle your everyday printing. The PhotoSmart 7760 comes with just about everything you'll need to get started (USB cable not included) and is backed by a one-year warranty. What's in the Box Features Reviews (14)
The guy at Best Buy told me I needed a USB cable, which is true, but it is not necessary unless you are printing from your computer. He tried to sell me a $30 one; I went to Walmart the next day and got one on clearance for $12. The printing is absolutely wonderful! The colors and hues are so rich, it looks like you are there in person. The blue sky is as blue on the picture as it was in person! Same with all the other colors! I have not run into any problems with little stars or black lines appearing on my pictures, and since I installed it about two hours ago, I have printed more than 50 4x6 prints using the HP Premium Photo Plus glossy paper. The prints are instantly smudge-proof, but take longer time to dry if you want to put them in an album (especially the ones with the dark colors). I feel the quality is equal to that os lab processed prints. I took a picture of the sunset one day and the oranges and reds just jump off the picture at you. I also haven't had any problems with any paper jams or "ink failed error" as some other reviewers have complained. The tray can only hold 20 4x6 cards at a time, so don't overload it and you'll be fine. I also liked that it came with two ink cartridges, one color and one photo. After 50-something pictures, the cartridges are still going strong. I also bought a black cartridge and color cartridge (a combo pack at Best Buy for its sale price of $39.74, regularly $53) and a gray photo ink cartridge along with a second photo cartridge. In addition I bought the HP plus glossy and matte paper (haven't used the matte yet) One word of advice (and it tells you this in the manual): When you place the paper in the 4x6 tray, make sure the side you're printing on is down and the perforated edge is toward you. I made the mistake of putting the paper in backward and had a couple prints come out with a white stripe on the end where the perforated edge should have been. This printer is great for the price and ease of use! No complaints whatsoever!
Downside: paper path a little convoluted but no problems. Perfect companion for my Nikon CoolPix 5400 digital camera.
THIS IS THE PRINTER TO GET.!!!!!!!

If you invest in this camera buy rechargable batteries and extra memory. Plan on this with ANY digital or you will be unhappy with the result. I have used three other digital cameras of different MB capabilities and by different makers...the same is true with them. This camera has a top display that is not on any other camera in this price range. Very easy to change flash/mode/quality settings without turning on back screen. A definate plus. Saves battery and time. This camera is a little slow but it is not anything a little patience can not handle. It just takes a little getting used to. There is a setting to take several pictures quickly. I have not had the need to use this feature, but, it may help with those hard to catch quick moments if the need arrises. The camera is also quicker if the flash is not on. Pictures do turn out better without flash and when not applicable I advise turning it off. The colors on this camera are GORGEOUS. They are very vibrant and bright. I advise having a photoediting program however with any digital for even BETTER pictures. A small adjustment may be all the difference you need to make a picture that's too dark and useless to the best picture you took all day. Get the best out of your digital! There are better cameras, but be prepared to pay. This is a great camera for what it is and for the money. Take it from someone whose in the visual field. Some reviewers seem very biased about this camera. Again be prepared to buy rechargable batteries and additional memory with ANY digital camera.

Or scan negatives and slides using a transparency adapter to create an archive of your photos. So how do you actually scan? Give mobility a whole new meaning When the workday ends, you place your scanner back on the bookshelf, where its safe and out of sight. Best of all, if you absolutely must finish those presentation transparencies on a Saturday, the HP 4670 is as mobile as you are. Just grab your scanner, transparent materials adapter, and laptop, and head to your favorite quiet spot. Whether you're sitting on the floor or in an office, the unique Scanjet technologies (high-end color separation; accurate, flattened scanning bed; and lots of other automatic color-balancing, restoration, and enhancement features) give you professional, polished results

The carriage has a special mechanical design that protects the sensors and their wire bonds. More features: Included Software Features Reviews (28)
I bought it for two applications: scanning documents and converting them to text with OCR, and scanning old family slides. This is NOT the scanner to buy for either application. The cheap OCR software included with the scanner is virtually useless. My typewritten documents came out hopelessly garbled - it would have taken more time to correct the mistakes that it would have to re-type them from scratch. If you plan to use this scanner for documents, plan to buy a better OCR program to go with it. As for scanning slides, the first unit I bought had a loose connection from the scanner to the slide attachment, and I had to exchange it. The second unit worked, but the scan quality was just not what I was hoping for. I returned the HP and bought an Epson 3170 instead. It comes with a far superior OCR program, and Photoshop Elements to boot. I'm not sure the slide scanning is much, if any better. Could be I'm just asking too much from a flatbed scanner...
First, the USB interface is far sub-par. Check HP's troubleshooting on their web site; their solutions to communication problems range from "use a powered USB hub" to "never use a USB hub." Very helpful. As I'm writing right now I'm hearing the USB interface bob up and down as it tries to connect with the scanner. Not working. Plus not only can you not use a hub (I tried a D-Link USB2.0 4 port), you can't connect even to the same USB bus. So unless you've got a spare USB header free from your motherboard, you probably can't connect at all (Amendment: After several hours I discovered the problem - for me, the scanner had to be on a powered hub but my Logitech USB mouse could not coexist on the same hub. Now things appear to be working since the scanner is on the hub all by itself and the mouse has been plugged directly into the workstation. Still a bad USB implementation, tho). Image quality is so-so. Not the greatest... flesh tones are too warm. I used Photoshop, WinXP's Scanner Wizard and HP's prepackaged software - the best results being the TWAIN driver in Photoshop. Speaking of which, the bundled software was harsh to use. For some reason it decided I wanted to scan my text documents as embedded objects in RTF's. Wha? The HP software was not good at all. The actual TWAIN Photo & Imaging Directory scanning interface was fine however - just the actually document management software was clunky. Beautiful looking and a real space saver, but if it doesn't work well then it's just an expensive window.

Contrast in the scans are by default bad, making the content of the document difficult to read. You can adjust the contrast in the first page (although it is a time consuming process, and since the document scan is a mere 15% of the total screen area, you are left second guessing the optimal settings). But believe it or not, by the time you scan your second page, the settings will go back to default, forcing you to readjust them. If you think you can scan a document to a third party application and manipulate it with it via TWAIN (such as Windows Imaging), and save yourself the pain of having to deal with HP Scan, think again. You will end up with a beautiful picture of THE LAST PAGE ("oh yes, this is by design" - HP Technician). The ADF is prone to paperjams, and they are tough and time consuming to clear. Only the smoothest paper will allow pass through without problems. I open a case with HP support (case no. 7161364157). They told me a technician would call back (this was a month ago). Still waiting for the call. HP really dropped the ball with this twinky. If you are planning to buy a document scanner, this is not the way to go. If you are planning to buy a photograph scanner, I suggest one of Epson's Perfection scanners, and save yourself 500 dolars worth of junk.
1) The color rendition is incredible and looks nearly identical to the item scanned. 2) You do not have to choose the image size. When I scan a letter document, the scanner knows it. And when I scan a legal document, it knows that too. I don't even know how to trick the thing. 3) As for the grayscale having to be chosen every time: Under "scan settings" you can choose your default settings. You can tell it to default to 1 bit or 8 bit grayscale, or many different color options. This will be the default setting if you elect not to change them every time you scan. I wonderered if this reviewer had just opened the box and didn't bother to read the manual or play with the software settings before posting. Or maybe he's a Canon person. Oh well. Just thought I'd dispell some untruths on the scanjet 8250. In my opinion and use, it has been a great, full featured scanner!

Features Reviews (19)
It's incredibly easy to use! I took it out of the box and started shooting photos about ten minutes later. There are so many nice features, too. It has a built-in flash (which can be modified to a red-eye reduction setting, a night setting, and other settings depending on what lighting you're using), optical and digital zoom, an LCD screen, and much more. I thought 2.1 megapixels wouldn't work well for me, but I've found that they are perfect for me. Most of the photos I take are just for fun, for my website, for selling items on eBay, or just everyday use, so I don't need to print out photos any larger than 8 x 10. I would suggest buying a larger memory card for the camera if you want to take lots of pictures at one time. Mine came with a 32MB card, and that takes about 35 pictures (if you use the highest quality setting -- more if you use a lesser quality setting). Also, purchasing rechargable batteries is a very good idea, seeing as the camera goes through batteries fairly quickly. Basically, if you're looking for a camera that's easy to use, takes fantastic photos and is affordable...this is the camera to buy. It's great for first-time digital camera buyers (like me).

I researched this camera and the Canon Powershot S410 and S500. When comparing the two, the HP had 2 or 3 better features than the Canon. I was hesitant about buying the HP, because it was so new that there was not a lot of customer feedback. I guess the selling point that just made my decision easier was the red eye in camera removal, since I take lots of close ups of my children. I am so happy with my purchase. I would recommend this camera to anyone. The auto features make picture taking a no-brainer, but if you do want to get creative, you can adjust almost anything, in the manual mode. A+++
I had no problems with the software and the camera was synced in under 10 minutes. I really like the Arcsoft panoramic maker. I give the Camera four out of five stars because I thought HP should of included a Secure Digital memory card with the camera. It does not come with a removable memory card and I thought that was cheap on their behalf. Overall, I highly recommend this camera if you are looking for a point and shoot device.
I read many detailed reviews before purchasing and none of them mention this....WHY ? Don't others find this a distraction when composing pictures ? HP has designed all these nifty features not available on other cameras... They got the styling right all in a nice tight package but really dropped the ball on the most basic feature of all....optics. I called HP to make sure that my unit wasn't defective. The rep powered up a camera and comfirmed that yes you do see 'a bit of the lens' but it doesn't print !....well duh...I know it doesn't print. So basically its good to know mine is not defective...they are ALL defective, IMO. Told the rep mine was going back to the store tomorrow. I use mostly the wider angle setting and I dont want to look at the camera lens in the viewfinder. ... Read more

The 4600 connects via a USB port (USB 2.0 compatible) and is compatible with both PC and Mac platforms. What's in the Box Features Reviews (4)
I was given the runnaround by the HP tech(?) and am going to have to wait until HP or some other company revamps the technical issues of what is otherwise an elegant and smart design. As a point of comparison I did identical scans with my Epson Stylus CX5400 all in one and when I could get a scan that wasn't plagued with the vertical banding I found the Epsons color and clarity superior at identical resolutions. (sarcasm here) Mind you, the Epson is a slightly more expensive ($50) printer copier scanner while the HP is only a scanner. This HP does not do what it is advertised to do.

Then I just put in the driver CD and followed the prompts. I shared it with my wifes WinXP Home Dell and we were printing just like that. It's quiet and fast and best of all prints outstanding color photos from our digital camera. We purchased a second one for my wifes office without hesitation!
And they had! While they may not all be exactly the same, one person stated that switching to a USB 2.0 cable solved their problem. So while we were at Target and it was only $10, we thought a $10 possible fix (or not) was easier to swallow than spending time on line with a support person. And it worked!! My husband swapped out the cords and turned on the computer, went to print a test page and FINALLY something that made sense printed out. Good luck! Oh, and by the way, I've tried the extra photo cartridge and really couldn't tell enough of a difference to buy another one. Also, I get my cartridges in multipacks from Costco and it's less expensive than other places. I had the 5600 before my husband needed a new printer, so then I got the 5650. Can't really tell much of a difference (printwise between the two).

Pro's, Con's, In short if you are looking for a small, easy to use and reliable digital camera then HP 433/435 is perfect. Its one of the best digital camera's of 2003. Thanks hp!
First of all, this is a nice pocket camera, except that the sliding lens cover (& power switch) is altogether too easy to open. On a couple of occasions, I've downloaded pictures of the inside of my jacket pocket. Other than that, the size is right. The camera runs through batteries like a Suburban runs through gasoline - if you buy this camera, get it with a recharger & several spares. The battery indicator on my camera is also a little fickle - I don't know that I've every seen it showing a full charge. Of course, the LCD display can be turned off to conserve battery life, etc., but it really is quite quick to consume juice. The picture quality is excellent for the size and price. I really have no complaints with the digital zoom's quality, but its performance leaves a lot to be desired. The digital zoom is slow, and the control is unwieldy. One other irritating feature is the USB port on the side, which is covered by a fairly rigid piece of rubber. This makes connecting the camera a two-handed operation - and it can be a little bit frustrating to try to connect it in a hurry. I imagine that the Photosmart dock would be preferable, but my DX6490 came with a dock and I'm not in a hurry to buy another. I haven't used the software yet, since the Kodak software works so well, and iPhoto on my Mac works beautifully with both the Kodak & HP, but the rest of the HP imaging suite (image editor, scanner & print software) works pretty well when it isn't leaking memory (HP has a fix for this, but the download is huge & I can't be bothered ordering the CD). Overall, this is a nice camera to keep in the car, in a pocket, or in a briefcase - but it's not the camera I would choose for challenging or critical photography.
