Bet on this one!
Unlike rival tripod DH-20/4 -manufactured by Velbon as well- you won't find a much wanted geared center column; a feature that makes life simpler but not an imperative when looking for a tripod. You can get as high as 6.4 feet with 3-section legs on an EL-3(A), compared to the 56.5 inches (!) with 4-section legs of a DH-20/4. Velbon's 3-way-panhead is surely among the best in the market; the entire head (PH-157) of the tripod gets locked in one, single point -compared with tripods where you have to do two or three operations for the same effect. It also allows for vertical and horizontal composition. As weight and seize are considerable issues for travelers, I have not found much challenge traveling with an EL-3(A)-an enduring, all-purpose tripod with a reasonable prize. ... Read more

Good value but not as advertised.
This Hakuba carbon fiber tripod is a lightweight well-made item that provides good value for the price. However, it is NOT the Velbon CARMAGNE 640 advertised. The CARMAGNE is a carbon fiber tripod with a magnesium top - hence the name CAR (for carbon) MAGNE (for magnesium). The item offered is the cheaper version manufactured by Hakuba (which I believe is the parent company of Velbon) and has ALUMINUM components, not magnesium...

For some reason this one is not as good as the gold version.
I had ordered the gold pen before and I loved it since it just glided on paper and never skipped or clogged. I ordered this silver one expecting the same results but it skipped a lot. If I would draw a straight line , it would be a mostly blank line with a few silver spots. I would not reccomend it.

The Perfect Writing Tool
I have used this pen on most of the things I write. I have seen some of my fellow classmates use pens like this and so Idecided to give it a try, and I was impressed. My writing is so very smooth while using this pen. I also enjoy it for the texture of the ink. Unlike other pens which I have tried it doesn't make an ink mark or splat on the page you are writing on. But the only bad thing is that some teachers (if you are a student) only prefer black ink or sometimes blue ink, because it can hurt your eyes to see the silver ink. On the other hand it you are not a student, use it on whatever you want, its great.

I have purchased one of the Hakuba pens (Silver) and I was quite pleased.Unlike many other pens of this nature this one never clogged, never quit working at a key moment...it continued until the end to roll the ink out onto the paper.These pens work especially great for labeling seasons' greeting cards and such and I have used them for school on invitations,I'm sure someone in need of an elegant pen would find a use for it in many, many other places.I recommend this pen to anyone who wants to create art and ballerina like elegance all in a letter written.

If you are an amateur photographer, you can probably do without this tripod, but for a pro - this is great. Comparable tripods by Bogen, Manfrotto are ALOT more, and not worth it.
