5-0 out of 5 stars coupling ring
The coupling ring let's you attach a second filter holder allowing you to use more than three filters at once. You can also orientate square filters in different directions. Or move a Center Spot filter father away from the lens for a larger circle. Or other filters that are best used when placed far forward like Pastels , Diffusers and the Pre-shaped Frames to name a few. It is Not for use with wide angle lenses. The Coupling Ring will also attach to the Modular Hood (225)

4-0 out of 5 stars Thank the stars!

4-0 out of 5 stars Pre-Shaped Frames
These filters allow you to concentrate on the subject itself and eliminate all unnecessary background detail, Don't use them for all subjects, only those that lend themselves to the effect. Use them for portraits, nudes, still life, landscapes or anytime you want to suppress unwanted background detail and to capture the spirit of the subject.

Helpful hints : Each of the five Pre-shaped frames comes in two sizes to match different subjects and lenses. Don't use super wide-angle lenses. The smaller the lens aperture (and the further the Pre-shaped frame is from the front of the lens) the sharper the cutout shape. The distance between your lens and the Pre-shaped frames can be varied by using a Cokin Modular Hoods (255) and the Coupling ring(308). Also, the lighter the subject or background itself the more pronounced the edge of the cutout will appear. These frames can be combined with most of the Cokin system filters, especially Diffusers, Pastels, color filters of all kinds, etc. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Creative Filter Set
Get your scissors, cut, design and think creativity, With this set of acetate filters, you can create any shape in any color you like and match your filters precisely to your subject and your imagination. Dream and create two, three or four colors in the same image, arranged as you like

Helpful hints : Handle the cut out fitters carefully and place them in the gelatin Holder (194), one of which is supplied with the Cokin Creative set. You may need several Modular Hoods (255) to protect the filters against the weather : check that the hoods do not vignette the image. These filters do not offer the optical quality of classical filters and cannot replace them for all applications. ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars Warning -this "kit" has an A series filter holder
It may not be fair to give this product the rating I have. However, I will not be able to test its function without buying new filters. It is an A-series filter holder, and many of the Cokin filters Amazon sells, including the ones I had ordered, are P-series, which are substantially larger. Nowhere on the description of this holder did I find any information indicating that it was A, rather than P. I may not have dug deeply enough, but this is significant information, and should have been included along with the info about the size of lens for which the adapter was intended, as one of the major bullet items on the main product page. ... 3-0 out of 5 stars Useful but overpriced
One can't write much of a review about an ordinary plastic box that holds filters. Yes, it is useful and saves space in an already crowded camera bag, but the price is a joke. But nevertheless it is something one needs and therefore gets - no matter how ridiculous the pricing is. ... Read more
