The perfect calculator for up to 8th grade
This calculator is easy to use and had good button feel. It does fraction calculations (a great function for students under 5th grader who are just learning about fractions but don't know about decimals). It reduces fractions and also does division with remainders. My daughter uses it to check her math. It is a great little calculator. Also comes with a hard case - good for carrying in the backpack.

Great product at a very low price
1. Got it at Fry's for only 14.99

rough install, wastes tape
Purchased several, had problems each time I tried to install. Poor support. I do NOT recommend. never did get to work with XP!

It's a bargain, if you can stand the quirky software.
Compared to comparable label printers this unit is a bargain at [$$$]The product concept of combining a hard plastic Mouse Pad and a Label Printer is STRANGE to say the least. But fortunately you can remove the useless mousepad.

Software is also quirky (you are advised to download the latest software FA-B30 from the Casio website which does support XP)

In it's default state after the software is installed it takes over the right mouse click context menu so that you can print
make labels out of whatever text that is currently selected instead of the normal right context menu for the application. (I'm not sure why they did not just add this function to the existing menu instead of taking over) - This feature can be disabled by properties.

The software is actually quite friendly in many ways, it shows the preview of the labels being printed, there are some pre defined BMP images that can be inserted to the labels, it even allows you to caputure a part of screen and insert it to the labels. The user interface is not very intuitive but I'm not complaining at this price.

All in all this is a useful printer at a bargain price

If you could (and you can) find this label printer for about half the price, it's well worth it. This is a great little USB lable printer that takes up very little space. Though I find the mouse pad portion useless and small, it can be removed. I agree with the other reviews, the software is limited, but the hardware is great. You can print from 6mm to 18mm tapes. First Graphic
I purchased mine for $49. Its suitable for any classes through college algebra. For trig you'll want to upgrade as it doesn't graph polar coordinates though it does convert rectangular to polar and back. If you needed to you could program it to input the (x,y) into a parametric graph and so display the results.

While my class mates were worrying about how to get their TI's to work I was working on the problems. Even though I've moved to the Casio AFX 2.0, I keep it for a backup. When my buddy isn't borrowing it...

Memories?
This calculator has many good features. Large enough for keys to be easily used, but fits in a shirt pocket. Uses two cheap AAA bstteries with a button battery for memory backup. It has a detailed instruction book, But the MEMORY is next to IMPOSSIBLE to access. The calculator does not even use the word memory, but uses the word list. It goes in to great detail how to manipulate the data in the list, but does not have a store or save and a recall button I spent 2 days trying to figure it out, and finally took it back. The HP9g that I replaced it with was easy to enter and access memory.

it barely does its job
studying A level maths i thought a graphic calculator would be fairly useful, and it was for a while. But with its poor diferentiation capibilitys and total lack? of intergration one. My advice if you were thinking of buying one of these is spend a little extra money and get a Ti-83

Other than students few need, or can use graphing calculators.
Although this calculator is advertised as being useful up to and including the calculus it is best used in Pre-Algebra and Algebra I. This is a very inexpensive graphing calculator and is, thus, very slow, the screen is pretty hard to read and the instruction book not only hard to follow and very demanding but printed on paper so thin that one can read the second page through the first.
After buying this calculator neither my 14 y.o. nephew nor I know just where it 'fits'. He reports that its slowness yields it fairly unhelpful in class. I prefer the entry system of Hewlett Packard RPN.
We conclude that this calculator is best used for simple non timed investigation of numbers and their relationships to one another as in 2 + 2 = 4
A good pre algebra calculator, a pretty good algebra calculator ad for the price ... unbeatable.
A good choice when calculator theft is a real possibility.

Low cost high performance.
This calculator was recommended in my undergrad engineering lab courses. This calculator served well in preparing for reports in the courses. Low price but very sophisticated. A must for students taking lab courses. ALENCIOUS SHU ZEE LO is WRONG!

ALENCIOUS SHU ZEE LO is WRONG!!
I just got my fx300w and was trying to replicate the bug ALENCIOUS reported. I found actually he/she misunderstood the functions. By RCL you only see what's stored in those alpha memory spots. If you wanna use them to calculate, you do not need to recall and cal( this will actually become what in ANS calculate with the last alpha u enter. The correct way to do calculation is just press Alpha and the spot u want to cal. In ALENCIOUS's example, it would be 'Alpha A + Alpha B', and that's absolutely correct.
Overall, I think this calculator is [inexpensive], convinient and powerful. I like it more than my TI-82 and also more than the new casio MS series(fx-300ms) :). Enjoy!

Be careful on the bugs of this calculator
Ok, this calculator looks great value with the amont of features, but it also have a very serious bug. The Store and recall function will give you a wrong answer if you do something like this:1 STO A2 STO BRCL A + RCL BThe answer depends on a previous calculation.As a summary, buy this calculator only if you think that money is more important than your projects, grades etc.

Superb Calculator!
I used to own a TI-36 made by Texas Instruments. That was a nice calculator, but then I decided to upgrade to this calculator.

There are many differences that set this calculator apart from the TI-36.

First of all, I love the 2 line display that displays the equation or whatever you just typed in on the top line and the answer on the bottom. Makes a perfect alternative to a graphing calculator that is very similar by displaying whatever you originally typed in. The TI-36 did not offer this. THis is a big plus.

Also, whenever you need to indicate a negative value, you can either use the negative button or the minus button before the value... for example, if you wanted to enter -5, you just have to key in - 5. With a TI calculator, you have to key in the five first, and then the negative sign. The TI way used to cause me to make some errors, but the Casio way is very logical!

Finally, you can use this calculator in any lighting condition. Because of three way power, you can use the solar panel in bright conditions and battery power in dark conditions, all automatically without any user interference!

There are tons of calculations that you can do with this calculator.

Although this calculator may seem a little expensive for a scientific calculator, I highly recommend it! It is definitely worth the money! ... Read more
