Perfect for use on the golf range, out in the field, or on a lake, theBushnell Yardage Pro 600 Laser Rangefinder is a lightweight andcompact 4x monocular that accurately measures distances from 21 to 600yards away. The rangefinder is made of durable black plastic with arubberized gripping area, making it easy to hold. To measure adistance, simply put one eye up to the monocular, aim at a target,press and release the fire button on top of the instrument, and waitfor the reading to be displayed inside on the LCD. Your target must beat least 21 yards away or you will get no reading.

There are five different targeting modes easily set by pressing a modebutton also located on top of the rangefinder. The five modes are: 1)standard, for normal conditions; 2) scan, for moving targets; 3)reflective, for highly reflective targets; 4) rain, for readingsduring inclement weather; and 5) zip thru, exclusively for targetsmore than 115 yards away. Most of the time you will probably just wantto use the standard setting.

Infrared energy pulses are emitted from the Yardage Pro 600 when thefire button is pressed. A high-speed clock measures the time it takesthe energy pulses to travel from the rangefinder to the target andback. Using this information, sophisticated circuitry inside the unitinstantaneously calculates the distance to the target. The infraredenergy pulses are eye safe. The color, surface finish, size and shapeof the target all effect reflectivity and range. Brighter colors likered or shinier surfaces on targets allow for a greater range. Lightingconditions and angle to the target can also effect the range.

The Yardage Pro 600 can be set to measure distances in yards ormeters. The internal display gives you the distance measurement,indicates when the battery is low, and even rates the quality orreflective level of the target, which helps you decide whetherto switch targeting modes. Good for close cover
The Pro600 rangefinder is really nice if you are working with relatively close subjects or in close cover. Bowhunters, blackpowder shooters, and others who aren't looking to really extend their viewing range will benefit from the clean display and ease of use.

The 600 yard range proves a limitation for folks looking to work in big territory, such as open country big game hunters or sailors. There is another rangefinder from Bushnell, the Pro1000, which is a better choice for these users.

All in all, the one I tried was pretty nice. A neat gadget for the hunting pack.

It's easy to switch among the three included eyepieces

Product information incorrect - No Hard Side Carrying Case
I bought this spotting scope as a gift for my husband and one of his requirements was that it include a hard-side carrying case. Listed in the features section above it says "Hard-side and compact soft-side carrying cases included".
This is incorrect. This product does NOT include a Hard-side carrying case. I can't testify to the quality of the product as he has not yet tried it out, but just be aware that there is no hard side case with this product.

Magni-ficent
Proving that there's life in the old dog yet, Bushnell have come up with this, the successor to the out-dated, poor-performing Trophy Splashproof Spotting Scope, and I have to say, it's a fantastic improvement. As soon as I took it out of the box I was impressed with its styling, shape, colour, and of course, waterproofness. I set it up in my front room and spent a happy couple of hours watching my neighbours coming and going, and they were oblivious to my surveillance. It's not the most subtle 'scope out there but stick a blanket over your head and you're laughing. GREAT little binocular!
I've had this binocular for several years and LOVE it! The extra wide view is the cat's meow when you're trying to see the big picture! It's easy to focus; has the extendable pieces to protect my glasses lenses; and provides a very clear view. The only thing I've used it for is to watch the critters in and near the water (whales, eagles, etc.), and it is everything I've always wanted in a binocular! Excellent midgrade binoculars
While comparing items in the store where I eventually purchased these binoculars, I noticed two things that immediately set these pair from the rest. The "InstaFocus" one-finger focus was excellent and dead on. Also the ability to track moving objects far exceeded a pair of Tasco's I demoed. The Falcons seem to stay in focus, without needing adjustment, for considerably varying distances.

I used the binoculars at a racetrack and professional football game (not having the BEST seats) and could easily make out names, etc. Great clarity, decent power, excellent focus make these a great purchase.

Very Disappointing!
In my experience, Bausch and Lomb's products, unfortunately, are very poorly made.. My 7-year-old cousin and I were unable to see the birds on our nature trip with these binoculars. We ended up having to pick up a pair of plastic binoculars at a nearby toystore (which worked much better!) ... Read more
