Amazon.com Product Description

Early Adopters Pick: September 2002. The smallest digital camera that comes with a 2-megapixel sensor, 12 MB of built-in memory, full-motion movie recording, MP3 player, and voice recorder.

With a super-slim design and having the height and length of a credit card, the Casio Exilim EX-M2 is sure to have heads turning as you effortlessly snap high-quality digital photos. Don't let the size fool you, the EX-M2 is equipped with a 2-megapixel sensor, 12 MB of built-in memory, full-motion movie recording, MP3 player, and voice recorder.

Optics and Resolution
The 2-megapixel CCD sensor captures sharp and brilliant images of up to 1,600 by 1,200 pixels, creating prints with sizes of up to 8 by 10 inches. Focusing is fixed for effortless operation, and the 4x digital zoom brings you up close to the action. Most other digital cameras are slow in operation, but the Exilim's speedy start-up time, lens, and CPU get to work so that, when the camera's turned on, a photo is taken in 0.01 seconds of pressing the shutter, capturing that otherwise lost moment.

Storage and Transfer
Images are stored on 12 MB of internal memory, which stores about 24 images with settings at normal resolution. If you want more memory, the expansion slot is compatible with any MMC or SD memory card. You can quickly and easily transfer your files onto a PC or Mac using the USB port for computer editing and sharing with friends and family.

Movie Mode
In addition to taking still photos, the Exilim can also record AVI movie clips with sound. The movie can be as long as 30 seconds at a resolution of 320 by 240 pixels.

More Features
Many of the Exilim's settings can be modified, such as programmed exposure, white balance, and flash. When you shoot in the "best shot" mode you can select a stored photo that looks similar to the photo you want to take and the camera automatically sets up to achieve that look. You can easily keep track of all these modes using the large 1.6-inch color LCD screen.

The Exilim also plays MP3s of various frequencies and bit rates, and is even VBR-compatible. The voice-memo function can record up to 50 minutes on the internal memory.

Power, Size, and Contents
The Exilim comes with a rechargeable lithium-ion battery, which has an approximate battery life of 65 minutes. The camera itself measures 3.46 by 2.16 by 0.49 inches and weighs 3.2 ounces without the battery. Other standard accessories are a hand strap, CD-ROM with imaging software, USB cradle and cable, AC adapter for cradle, remote controller with LCD, and stereo headphone. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Good in size, bad in quality.
when i just bought it, its compactable size seemed to be its biggest advantage. however, its battery life isn't that good as it could only last for at most 2,3 days. sometimes, lesser than a day if many pictures were to be taken. also, its metal finish ain't that good as it is scratchable easily. Not good if you were prepared to have it with you for the rest of you life.thus, i find that only its size and mp3 function is a big plus for this little camera, without the fact of its poor quality of pictures. but hey, wad can you expect from a 2 megapixel camera...

4-0 out of 5 stars style & convenience=5 stars, pictures=3 stars
I am overall pleased with my purchase.
PROS:
1. really nice style; eye-poppingingly small; attractive aluminum finish; fits in pocket/take it with you everyday.
2. fast response (due to fixed focus lens which is also a con); ready to take a picture almost instantly.
3. video mode is very fun; takes decent mpeg videos with sound even in low light; i use this feature a lot.
4. mp3 function is awesome; except included earbuds are useless (too big for ear hole); good battery life.

CONS:

1. picture quality only fair; fixed focus optimal for subjects around 3-5 ft away. closeups & landscapes not so sharp. low light stiuations for stills pretty bad (i dont like to use flash).
2. quality of remote unit for mp3 is bad. after only 2 months the wire crapped out (must jiggle and hold in a certain position for sound to come through).
3. battery life for stills & videos could be better but not really bad.
4. only 8MB built in memory; i recommend buying 256MB SD card (i wasted money on separate 64 & 128 cards)

you could get better optics in a similarly small package (the sony dsc-u20 for example; sharper pictures but poor video quality, no sound or mp3, cheap plasticy case); but the combination of the mp3 function, fast response as well as attention getting style made this the choice for me.

5-0 out of 5 stars very cute camera.
I purchased this camera instead of a higher quality camera because of its size and its functions. The mp3 player part of it is awesome and the size of it is very convenient. its a great camera, although the quality of the pictures arent that great. i recommend this camera for people looking to take everyday pictures, but if you're looking for quality, this camera might not satisfy you. i bought a 256 memory card with it, and it allows me to have as many things on my camera as i desire. great design very stylish.. =]

5-0 out of 5 stars A thing of beauty
I bought my girlfriend the Exilim S2 about a year ago, she got fed up with me using it, so I had to buy my own. The thing is just amazing. Simple to use, in a beautiful, sturdy, magnesium, credit-card sized body. And the battery lasts ages. Picture quality on the lower resolution settings isn't so good, and the digital zoom is rubbish, but that's hardly the point. This is a camera for snaps, moments where you just want to reach into your pocket and snap what's in front of you. The computer interface is a doddle - I use it with my Mac, and all the file formats are standard so you can use it with just about anything. I know about five people that have gone out and bought this camera after I demonstrated it to them, I should be getting commission from Casio!

5-0 out of 5 stars A cute, sleek and wonderful product
Functions are ver attractive, image quality are good. it is really compact for the travel lover to carry this multi-funciton digital camera with MP3 recorder. But I haven't figured out how to download the MP3 from computer to the camera?? can somebody make it in details and post it here? thanks a lot!! ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Amazing and Extremely Small and Durable Camera + MP3 Player
I bought the M20U (about 2 months ago) as a secondary cam, after purchasing the Canon IS S1 (wonderful camera), for a camera to have with me always. Obviously this isn't the "best" taking picture camera out there, but for the compact size, and I stress compact, it's smaller than a credit card super thin, and has a very durable steel body, and a very decent MP3 player, it was perfect for my needs. A camera to have anytime of the day or night (what good is a shot you could take if you have no camera at all). The flash isn't super, but adequate for portrait shots. Also, Casio really adds alot of features as mentioned above to this tiny cam, especially the auto lens cover. The picture quality is good, not great, it would never replace my S1. But if you want a camera to have with you all the time, I would recommend this tiny companion. If it's for your main and only camera, you may want to consider Canon or others. But as a complimentary camera, its perfect. I use the MP3 player everyday while im at work. I love it.. I tried the Pentax S4, ok picture quality also (the fuzzy corner issue there), but more expensive at the time and actually double the size of the M20 (depth wise) plus no MP3 player and macro. I wanted a camera that would fit in any pocket, shirt or pants and wouldn't notice the weight or bulk of it. Again, I would recommend anyone that can find one, try it out, it's a fun, fast shooting camera. I've got shots I never could have with my S1. I was really amazed how fast this thing can shoot. No AF lag whatsoever, and start up is fast, real fast. Great battery life also. I listen to my MP3 7 hours a day with life to spare. I usually charge it each night though. (...). Great site... Only cons, is, no optical zoom (never use digital zoom), but not a big issue, just move closer if possible to the subject.

Hope this helps someone out...

5-0 out of 5 stars Stylish with great image quality
This camera is simply fantastic. Not only is it stylish and slim (will fit in your jean pockets with easy) but also takes fantastic pics, with great resolution even at 20x12. My grandfather recently bought a 4MP Olympus and he had to conceed how little difference there is in image quality. Unlike some more expensive cameras it also takes movies with sound and can be used as a dictaphone or sound recorded.

And if this wasn't enough the camera sports a cool MP3 player, allowing you to use the device as a music player with storage capicty limited only by the size of your memory cards.

The build quality and features have also improved since the M2/S2. Battery life is greater and the interface and controls are allot better.

3-0 out of 5 stars Nice form factor, but lower image quality than expected
This is a great little camera for quick shots but actually had less resolution even on the highest setting than my dinosaur of a 1.3 mp Olympus. Also, movie mode audio track has a lot of digital noise. If you're after a fun all-rounder, however, this is a great camera with a fantastic user interface and design ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars Auto-reverse function gets jammed
The auto-reverse gets jammed on mine. I stick in a tape, and in the middle of the tape, the player auto-reverses back and forth, back and forth for no reason. Other than that, I guess it works fine. But of course, the only reason to buy this is for the auto-reverse, which doesn't work.

1-0 out of 5 stars Bad product- recommend don't buy.
Bad product- stay away from- tape buttons don't work-put a tape in for the first time and it fast forwarded, stop button did not work and play did not work, could not get tape to stop- had to take batteries out to get my tape back. I had to send back. If I could have given this a negative star rating, it would have gotten 5 NEGATIVE stars.

4-0 out of 5 stars Sounds good...
The button to flip to the other side is too easy to tap inadvertently. I use the cassette player for language learning tapes while jogging and find this button to be a problem. I'm sure there are problems with all tape players but this one is rather annoying. Other than that the player has been quite good. The sound is especially good considering the importance of nuances needed in language learning. I'm sure acid rock sounds great!

3-0 out of 5 stars For slow and casual walkers.
On the cover of the packaging for this item is a skateboarding kid attempting a 360 aerial maneuver. Good thing he doesn't have this cassette player clipped to his cut-offs and the headphones strapped to his head, or the outcome would be seriously in doubt. But since there's no built-in speaker with the unit, the only possible use I can see for it is to motivate aerobic activity--jogging if not skateboarding. Problem is, it's fairly bulky and is closer to a full than the advertised half pound.

I got the item on a Friday Sale, so the cost of returning it would be close to my original outlay. I'll probably just keep it and use it for walking the cat. Or when I get time, I'll sell it on the internet at cost so someone gets some use out of it. And to be fair to the Casio people, who generally offer a lot of product (in this case, too much) for the money, I see that their model has smaller dimensions than comparable machines from Phillips and Panasonic.

4-0 out of 5 stars Good Buy
There are 3 things to say about this device: 1. It works just fine. 2. It is incredibly easy to procure thru one-click from Amazon.com. 3. The price is right.

P.S. I am not an employee or stockholder of Amazon.com! ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Good CD Player For the Price
This CD Player is a great player for the price. It has great features such as the 20 song programmable memory and the 40 second anti shock. The memory works great and it allows me to program the playlist I want for a jog or a car trip. The 40 second anti shock works well for small bumps such as ones in a car, but does not work well for ones you would experience while jogging. It plays smoothly for about 10 seconds while running, but begins to skip after that. Another thing I like about this player is its cool design. It has a transparent blue color case that allows you to see the cd while it plays. This player also plays burned CD's very well. The headphones on this player are not tremendous. The sound is allright but the headphones are almost impossible to get to stay on your head while doing any physical activity. Overall I would recommend this product to anyone who wants a quality cd player without the high price. If you are looking for anti-skip protection while jogging I would look elsewhere.

4-0 out of 5 stars A solid product
Well the Casio CD player turned out as I expected it to be a decently good CD player. I could never decide between the Koss CD player and the Casio one but i liked what I heard about the Casio player. It has all the necessary features programmable memory, a nice power save feature (the Koss product doesnt), suprisingly nice headphones and a solid anti-skip system. It also has a very nice design. It did play the burned CDs' I had although it does say in the manuel it is'nt compatable with all CD-R's. And the Car kit was an added value. Now why did I give it 4 stars, well because there are just as good values or even better in the local stores. There are CD players that are fully CD-R compatable and with longer battery life (up to 29 hours) for almost the same price with a car kit too. Price Ranges were from 59.99 to 69.99 for CD players that were superior in Brand (like RCA, Panasonic, Aiwa). Overall though this is a well built discman with a very nice design. I only wished I wouldve shopped around because for the price of this product with shipping I could of found a slightly supperior product without the wait time.

4-0 out of 5 stars good player
good player for the money but if u use anti-skip be sure u have alot of batteries

1-0 out of 5 stars Very disappointed
I bought this CD player for my son for Christmas. He has probably used it 15 times at most and it just stopped working. It was great while it worked but it just didn't work very long. The warranty only lasted 90 days so we're out of luck.

3-0 out of 5 stars Not The Best
This Cd player is great to listen with. The volume is real loud and it has all the play options you need for great listening. This cd player does skip a lot though. Unless your holding it real still in your hand it skips all over the place. I bought this one because I didn't want to pay 100+dollars for a cd player when all I use it for is the bus on the way to my basketball games. So if you decide to buy it you had better be ready to hold it in your hand the whole time. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars great sound quality
I bought this radio, thinking it would have average sound, like all of my other radio's that died after a few months. When I got this radio, I listened to it and the sound of my favorite FM station was awesome. I skipped around and all of the stations after that were clear. I have had this radio for months and months, and I am still completely satisfied. I highly recommend this cute radio!

5-0 out of 5 stars Perfect fit on my desk
I am desk worker and have a sony's boombox but it is too big on my desk and found this slim less spare needed boombox. I should say this music system since it has CD, CD-R/RW and clock/timer and digital radio with full remote. This AJ-1 is so slim so I can put this player wherever in my desk or even I can put on the wall with included screw. Time to time my colleague burn the music cd for me and I can enjoy it with AJ-1. This AJ-1 is ideal for business man's desk top !

5-0 out of 5 stars Bed side, kitchen with best quality
AJ-1 is ultra slim CD player with clock, digital radio. Also this product is wall-mountable so you can hang it on the wall or bed room and operate by full remote controller. Imagine I have never seen such unique quality product so this will be the best gift for your family and friends. Please try !

4-0 out of 5 stars Outstanding. Until it falls over with a thud.
It's no Wave, but it's not bad except for the flimsy stand that keeps the player from falling over. It barely does that. And there's the odd need to expose the entire CD player to insert a disc. But the player sounds pretty good, reception is OK and if you hang it securely on a wall until it's time to throw it in a suitcase you'll be fine.

3-0 out of 5 stars Cute concept. Sounds like it looks
I wanted a small CD player for the kitchen. It does not fill the room at all, however, I like the size, and it can be discreetly tucked anywhere. Everyone asks, what's with the scale? when they first see this. THe sound is a bit too tinny, needs a better bass boost. I'm also a music buff, so this is merely suitable for the news, listening to favorite CD tracks, and keeping me company in the kitchen when I'm washing dishes.

3-0 out of 5 stars Sometimes great
I generally like this product, but I have had a few glitches with it. A few times the cd wouldn't start. Other times I can hear the cd rotate over the music. I just hope this electronic item will stand the test of time, unlike so many other products I've purchased and used with care. ... Read more

So if you decide to buy it you had better be ready to hold it in your hand the whole time. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars nice looking basic piece

4-0 out of 5 stars It plays mac CD's!!!
Lo and behold an MP3 cd player from Casio. I figured like all the other MP3/CD players this thing would skip like crazy and eat batteries in an hour but boy was I surprised! Not only does it have a great battery life but it plays Mac formatted MP3 discs. By total accident I loaded in a cd that I had made of some music I was taking to work and began listening then I realized it wasnt an ISO 9660 formatted disc. Great sound, easy navigation, sturdy hardware, with the addition of a remote or larger LCD for ID3 navigation this would easily deserve that 5th star.... ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars Looks great -- sounds OK. Hardly any features.
This is an extremely basic cassette/radio player. The radio dial is analog. Unless you have a very strong signal, station signals fade in and out which can be quite annoying, especially if the stereo/non-stereo is affected. A mono option would be nice in such situations to cut down on the hiss. There's no bass boost and no tone control. No microphones or input jacks, so all you can record is the radio. There is a headphones jack, however.

...

5-0 out of 5 stars For under $25 it can't be beat
I work in an industrial workplace, where any radio has to take its chances with getting banged about, so I don't want one that I'll scream in horror when I see it smashed. This Casio (...) fits the ticket. Durable enough to stand casual bumps and tight enough to keep the dust and dirt out of the innards. The radio recieves the full range of local AM/FM, even through the steel and concrete walls of the building. The cassette player is smooth, the door stays tightly shut, and it has clear reproduction. The volume can be nice and loud, with no loss of fidelity, for when the background noise is intrusive. The built-in mic works like a charm. Battery life is fair, about what you would expect out of a couple of AAs.

5-0 out of 5 stars Cool body with nice stereo sound

5-0 out of 5 stars Great sound with cool shape
Unique cool design with affordable price. Easy to use and longer battery life. 30 preset channel is easy to use, this is my choice.

1-0 out of 5 stars Don't waste your time
I received this item and there is nothing on the packaging that tells you what type of batteries it needs. You have to dig pretty hard to find the answer to that one. It takes 2 - AA's by the way. So, as I was out of AA's, I ventured out and bought some batteries. Upon inserting the batteries in the unit, I decided I would like to preset some FM radio stations. Before I could get the first station preset, the tuning buttons quit and I could not change the stations at all. What a waste of time and money. I will look for another product by another manufacturer as I am returning this one for a full refund. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great sound, and portable!
I got this for my birthday and I started playing my CD's. This plays not just regular Cd's, but CD-R's and CD-RW's. It's portable, and has a remote. But on the remote it has no volume control. The only buttons are: Power, Play/Pause, Skip/Search, Stop, Band, Memory, and Play Mode.

It includes batteries for the remote, and has an AC cord for the Boombox so you don't have to waaste batteries. For the radio, theres up to 15 presets per AM/FM. It also has a FM antenna for good reception.

The blacklit LCD screen makes it easy for me to read in the dark before bed. This, I recommend to everyone.

5-0 out of 5 stars Good looking with great surround sound
Good looking with large LCD display with back light. It is easy to use but also create great sound thanks to surround system. Also equipped with digital tuner is very easy to tune in my favoriate channel.

4-0 out of 5 stars Nice sound for the size
This boombox has a nice sound and easy to read display. It is compact and fairly lightweight, even with the batteries installed. The digital tuner and remote control are an added comvenience. The small headphones that were mentioned in the editorial review are non-existent. Oh-oh :-( The boombox could use more bass boost. A Bass Port on the unit would have made this boombox an ideal item indeed!!!

2-0 out of 5 stars No base
This boom box has no boom. The size is right, the appearance is right, and even the weight is right. But as far as quality sound, it's not there.

Amazon.com Review

Slim enough to fit into any pocket or small bag, the Casio XG-3 is agreat choice for minidisc listeners who are on the go and on a medium-rangebudget. Thanks to 40-second antiskip protection and a durable metal casing, wefound this unit to be reliable and tough enough to provide a smooth, uninterrupted audio experience in almost any active setting.

As with most minidisc players on the market today, Casio includes a handy inlineremote control that clips to a shirt or jacket and lets you control playbackwithout having to dig the body of the unit out of your pocket. The volume, playback buttons, bass-boost adjustment, and lighted display are all accessiblefrom this round remote control, which also accommodates the headphone jack.Though easily accessed, these buttons are tiny and proved a bit difficult tomanipulate when we took the XG-3 jogging.

The remote also includes a backlit blue display, allowing you to see in lowlighting (watch for battery drain) and providing the ability to change the textinformation that displays as the minidisc plays. Data shown includes currenttrack number, elapsed time, and song name. When the minidisc stops, it candisplay the total number of tracks, playing time, or name of the LP.

Casio provides a generous length of cord with the XG-3: 28-inches from theminidisc player to the inline remote, along with a 45-inch cord for headphones. If you are wearing a big jacket, this cord length is perfect. If not, however,we found the excess cord between the headphones and the unit itself to bepotentially entangling with a body in motion.

The sound on the headphones will suffice, and there are even two extrabass boosters. But the headphones themselves are so light that they often slipoff--especially if you have a lot of hair. Fortunately, the 0.125-inch jack iscompatible with other headphones of the same size.

The most obvious fault of this minidisc player is its lack of recordingcapabilities. However, with its focus on portability and all the conveniencefeatures we look for in a minidisc player of this price category, the Casio XG-3is an excellent all-around unit for enjoying prerecorded minidiscs wherever yougo. --Robyn Bell

5-0 out of 5 stars Best buy!
I bought this product last Christmas and it hasn't broken or skipped since then. This MD player has all the essentials plus more. It comes with headphones, a recharable battery, and the recharger. Don't think this product is poor quality because it is cheaply priced, it's a great buy for only ....

5-0 out of 5 stars don't believe everything you read
Before purchasing this product I wanted to read the reviews from other customers. One that concerned me was one that the product fell apart and they were not able to have it repaired. I contacted Casio and found out that it is highly unusal that the problem would not have been handled. They also mentioned that the product was not available last Christmas and had only been released in the US market in May of 2000. I think the Casio Minidisc player is the best for the money I have seen. I have also had several other Casio products and have never been disapointed in the performance for the price. This has also held true so far with the Minidisc player.

1-0 out of 5 stars Dismal Failure/POOR Quality
I did buy this Nov 24, 2000 (I have the receipt) as a gift for my son. Almost immediately it began skipping, ignoring tracks, or not playing entire discs. I found that some low-end minidiscs (such as Hi-Space) will not play on these low-end players [see alt.audio.minidisc]. I did, however contact Casio and they quite cordially gave me all the information to send it in under warranty. Haven't got it back yet, but we'll see how it acts upon it's return. Just be aware that there are known problems with this and other low-end units [see xxx for complete write-ups and comparisons]

1-0 out of 5 stars Nice price but poor performance
This product was quite disappointing. The player skips often and the life of the batteries is short. One Duracell will play one 74 minute MD. The sound of the system is fine when working. The headphones are poor.

2-0 out of 5 stars great price, looks good, sounds good, but....
when i first opened up the box and listened to it, I thought it sounded great. I liked the remote thing and everything else. I then noticed that it wouldn't play half the tracks on my minidisks... they play just fine with my other player. So i returned this product. As far as minidisks go, Casio does not seem to be one of the major players and i believe i know why now. Maybe it was just mine but i returned it in a matter of an hour of recieving it... ... The sleek, rounded corners, striking silver finish, and compact body ofthe Casio CD312SBWE boombox are just the beginning for this snappy little rig.The Casio CD312SBWE also sports a top-loading 24-track programmable CD player,front-loading cassette deck, and AM/FM radio.

In our tests, we found that the cute little music maker works well either on thego when powered by 6 D cells or at home with the supplied AC cord. It's also gotone of the cleanest designs we've seen, with a symmetrical layout and clearlymarked functions. Our only gripe in this department concerns the minijack forheadphones, which is located on the back of the unit's.

That said, this is a good-sounding boombox--with clear vocals, a respectabletreble, and a sonic presentation that's bigger than you might think. Radioreception is just average (the mono switch helps with hard-to-get stations), butthe CD player works quite well and is a snap to program. The cassette deck isfine for playback, but the lack of a tape counter and noise reduction of anykind makes all but the most casual recording a bit of a pain. There are also notone controls, but there is an electronic bass boost, which we recommend leavingon at all times; otherwise the sound is too thin.

For the money, Casio's CD312SBWE manages to combine decent sound and basicfeatures in a sweet little package that's also fun and easy to use. --WayneGarcia

5-0 out of 5 stars Nice player, works great...
Not sure why there are negative impressions of this unit. I received as a gift for the holidays '01 and it's worked great every since. I almost always listen to CD's I've burned and the unit has always recognized them. In fact, I wanted a unit that would be able to read CD-R's, CD's. and MP's. The unit has done this flawlessly. The headphones are comfortable and sound quality is good. Overall, this is a super value in comparison to MP3 only players with expensive memory add-ons. The only drawback is I wish their was a rechargable battery included.

1-0 out of 5 stars Regarding Casio PZ-5100 Electronic Fan New Jearsey
I just baught this unit from costco. I think its a worst unit. I cut two mp3 cds of 650 mb capacity TDK one. None is working, But these CD's are working on other player and on my desktop.
Normal CD works but Quality is not impressive. SKIP protection is very very bad. I think mucic player is not entirely a field for Casio. They put there mind somewhere else.

1-0 out of 5 stars Might be good if it worked!!
I have yet to be able to hear even 1 song on the player, even normal CD's don't work - everything sounds like the chipmunks. Trying to deal with casio support is a joke - nothing on their web site (web site listed in manual doesn't even exist) and only 1 number in the manual that is open for 8 hours a day monday-friday. After 1 hour on hold (wasting my lunch hour at work) they said it is defective and they can't help without having the player sent to them or to return it where it was purchased from. I feel like I just wasted my money and time trying to deal with the problem - it is not worth it.

5-0 out of 5 stars Really Cool !! about 160 MP3 Songs in your hand !
I bought this Casio MP3 personal CD player for my daughter and
I became to love it. Especially Random play function with MP3 is
one of my favorite. I burned 147 MP3 songs a couple of days ago from my stored HDD and I played thru this Casio.
Never have to change CD. Good for long trip.
Enjoy your favorite songs long long time !

3-0 out of 5 stars Back to basics
I bought this to make portable my toddler's lullaby music, so I wasn't much interested in the headphone aspect. Its compact size is good, the radio sounds better than the tape. Tapes sound really "tinny" but my 2-year-old doesn't notice. However, tapes sound better with the headphones. It's pretty basic and wasn't oversold on that point. Count me as 3.5 stars, but there weren't half stars on the scale.
