Stylish but bad pictures
I think that this is a terrible camera. Even though it is very stylish, it takes bad pictures. Even if you have bright lighting the pictures look dark. I would not suggest buying this camera.

Hip and Stylish Camera
Even at the age of 12, I think this camera would be great for kids, because its easy to reload film into and it's not hard to work with. I think it's a pretty cool camera, because there is color to it instead of the plain old normal gray and black. You don't have to worry about you're kids breaking a hundred dollar camera the first time they you use it. I would give this product a five star rating. ... Read more

ADD ON TO CAMERA.... NOT SEPERATE LENS
This lens is an add-on to the camera... i m pretty sure it will fit the IS-30 model tooo becuase the C-160 and C-210 which are similar to this lens are/can be used for the IS-30... So check it out a local camera store if it will work w/ IS-20/30..
Amazon says that this lens is 180mm lens.....
AFAIK this lens is an add on to MANY olympus cameras and a few other cameras(most 52 mm cameras)... it increase the zoom of ur camera by upto 1.6x so if u hav a camera w/ 110 zoom it increase it to 180(110 x 1.6).
Olympus up to my knowledge has always been reliable .... so go for it if u can find a good price. ... Read more

Olympus USB READER/WRITER MAUSB-10
Sounded like agreat idea to use with my Olympus D-390 camera. Well I carefully unpacked the device, and installed the software exactly as instructed. Then I plugged in the USB cable into my computer. The instalation started. I got following notice "Has not passed Windows logo testing" do you still want to install it ? What heck I'll try anything once. No way would it install. Went to Olympus home page and downloaded update. Still would not accept installation. E-mailed Olympus help. Waiting for an answer. I can't evaluate the device's functioning. It didn't. hi, i bought this camera. about 6months ago..

liked the rugged durable style,but is kinda big and bulky.

plus doesn"t have that many fatures.. so i took it back

and bought kodak advantix c-800 zoom..

at last. a small light weight aps camera with every feature u can think possible

but you cant go by that.. it jamed a couple of times..
didnt take all that great of pictures..
and didnt have all the features my new camer has.
like infinityfocus mode,spot focus,portrait,nightview,continus,
and three picture sizes..

The E1 is a digital camera designed specifically for professional photographers. It is an amalgam of high-end digital technology, advanced technical features, and a rugged construction intended for daily use.

Optics and Resolution
Featuring a 5.5-megapixel Full-Frame Transfer CCD (FT-CCD) sensor, the E1 delivers a wide range of detail and color (with images up to 2560 by 1920 pixels) in both TIFF and Raw formats. The FT-CCD is a Progressive scan sensor that provides more image capturing surface area than traditional interline CCDs. Olympus claims this type of sensor accounts for more accurate color sensitivity, a higher dynamic range from black to white, and a higher signal-to-noise ratio than most other cameras in its class.

With a traditional 35mm lens, light hits the periphery of the image area at oblique angles. This is not a problem with the flat surface of film, but diodes inside image-sensor light wells need direct light paths (see above, left). Because the Four Thirds System uses a lens mount that is about twice the size of the camera's image circle, light is more likely travel straight into the wells (right).

The E-1 utilizes the Four Thirds lens standard, which was designed to solve some of the image problems manufacturers have found by designing digital SLRs to use traditional 35mm lens systems--specifically, a digital image sensor's need for light from direct angles. This body has a Four Thirds mount and is only compatible with Four Thirds lenses by Olympus and other manufacturers. The camera also features spot, center-weighted, and Electro-Selective Pattern (ESP) metering, seven selectable sharpness levels, three-point autofocus with AF assist illumination.

Supersonic wave filter protects imager from dust

Supersonic wave filter
Because swapping lenses on the go is a fundamental part of SLR photography, so too is dust particles. The problem is made more acute by the physics of a CCD; tiny particles can easily block or disable the CCD's image wells to degrade performance of your camera over time. To solve this, Olympus has created a supersonic wave filter that causes ultra-discrete high-speed vibration knocks particles away from the imager. The filter is operated automatically at start-up and during pixel mapping, and can be manually turned on at any time.

Storage and Transfer

This is not a bad camera, so please don't be mislead by my review. For anyone who wants a [inexpensive] camera that works, nothing beyond that, this could be the camera for you. If you plan on taking the camera everywhere, this is fine. If you want to be a serious photographer, however, don't even consider this one.
