Specifically For Use With The Lithium-Polymer Battery Grip
Just a note on an excellent product:

The TCON300, Oly's 3x connection lens for the Camedia E-10, already comes with a support arm. This support arm, however, is a special consideration for when the Li-Po Battery Grip and the TCON300 that's available for the E-10 are used in conjunction. The battery grip attaches to the bottom of the camera, rendering the standard support arm worthless.

Works great for virtual tours
This lens came with a tripod mount and a couple of adapters, one of which fits my Olympus D-490 zoom. The adapters seem to work well but being plactic 'clip-ons' they're not very robust. The IPIX software doesn't work for the D-490 hi-res images but you can downsize the pix to make them 'fit'. Although more complex, Helmut Dersch's Panarama Tools are better but you will need to crop the images first.

Quality lens for a low price!
This lens kit includes the fisheye lens, a couple of adaptors to Olympus point and shoot digital cameras (I use a D-460Z), and a tripod mount that positions the lens directly over the forward nodal point to eliminate parallax for panorama stitching. It works very well, especially considering the prices of standard wide angle lenses at ten times this price.

I recommend stitching with MGI PhotoVista (http://www.mgisoft.com) and take your photos with minimal or no compression such as TIFF mode (4 megs) and compress later for Web viewing top quality panoramas. Crop out the black "tunnel" with PhotoShop if you can afford it.

For panoramas it is critcal to get your nodal point directly over the center of the tripod to avoid parallax. Be sure your tripod head has the attachment screw directly centered. Get an external flash first !!!
The 0.8x may not sound like much, but it is significant. I find myself using this teleconverter more often than not, especially for indoors. Unlike the 1.45x and 3.0x teleconverters, you can actually use most of the main lense zoom adjustment with this teleconverter lense still on the camera (the 1.45x and 3.0x teleconverter will give you a vignette effect unless you are at maximum zoom).

As the picure shows, the buisness end of this lens is a lot wider than the built in lense on the E10 or E20N. It will block the built-in flash to some extent, and this will be more pronounced on close work. I have the FL40 external flash and it has worked beautifully in concert with the WCON-08B. The FL40 has been replace by the FL50 which I assume is at least on the same par.

My only gripe with the WCON-08B is the cheap lense cap that comes with it. It is sort of rubber and fits on over the lense barrel rather than clipping to the filter threads on the inside of the barrel. It is not tight enough to stay on.

Great glass, fast, but...
Olympus really did good with the atached lens for the E-10: fast, distortion-free, low-dispersion glass makes for great pictures. They do a pretty good job with this .8x wide-angle converter -- but just one gripe (later).

This converter is made for the E-10, and screws into the permanently-attached lens. It's another inpressive chunk of glass (like the attached lens, and the tele converters), using fully-coated low-dispersion elements to keep it fast and distortion-free. It looks heavier than it is, and it really doesn't unblance the camera with the converter attached.

So, my one gripe? This is a .8x converter, meaning that the E-10 lens's widest angle (35mm equiv) is converted to 28mm equivalent. This is not Earth-shattering; in fact, it's quite unimpressive. I wonder, since there are third-party manufacturers who make 62mm .7x and .6x converters, why Olympus didn't think this one a little further through and make a truly "wide angle" converter.

Still, 28mm is wider than 35mm, and it's a very good value for the quality you get in this converter. I recommend adding it to your stable of stuff for your E-10 [but I do hope Olympus is listening/reading, and thinking about coming out with a wider-angle converter].

I believe this lens is made specifically for the Camedia E-10. It's threads have a 62mm diameter that attaches to the E-10 without an adapter. This is really an impressive piece of glass for the money - and it's fully coated. So large, it hardly reduces the speed of the base lens, and yet not so heavy that it disturbs the overall balance of the camera while it's on. I've used many extension lenses with other cameras and this rates among the best. Most extenders are really not worth bothering with because of the distortions they add. Using this extender with the E-10 is like using a 28mm lens on a 35mm format camera.

Good quality, but not very practical
Starting with my first SLR over 20 years ago, I've always purchased the manufacture's case for each one of my cameras including my new Olympus E-10 (awesome camera, but that's for another review.) After receiving the case and examining it firsthand, I've determined that while the quality is generally good, the design is poor.

Most good SLR type camera cases have two separate pieces. One piece fits over the bottom. The other piece usually snaps to the bottom piece and fits over the lens and top. The E-10 case is more like a pouch, where the whole camera fits inside. The camera is well protected and doesn't jiggle around. It's good for storing, but not pratical for an outing. The craftsmanship and leather used is overall quite good. The "Olympus" lettering is painted recessed and will probably start to flake off over time. (Some cases have raised attached lettering which is more durable.)

For the price, you could probably do better by buying a padded bag with compartments. On the other hand, if you like collecting accessories for your cameras (like me), you might want to go ahead and get it. It's a nice case, albeit over priced with only a so-so design. At the time of this writing, Olympus is offering a rebate on accessories which makes it an even better purchase.

Nice But Too Expensive
If you have an Olympus E-10, you probably have to have this case to protect your camera. But that's the problem. Because you gotta have it, Olympus can run up the price and you gotta pay it. If this product sold for less, I'd give it five stars. Good quality leather, nice fit, a pocket in the lid for storing an extra memory card. Good stuff, bad price.

Clumsy and awkward to use
.... Although shaped to match the E-10, this case makes it very difficult to use the camera spontaneously -- and for general travel and everyday photography, this is a serious drawback.

I moved from a Minolta SLR to the E-10 -- the Minolta case is attached to the tripod screw of the camera body, so that you can quickly flip the main part of the case off and have it hang from the bottom of the camera -- i.e. out of the way. The E-10 has to be totally removed from the case before you can use it. If you try to keep it attached to the camera strap with the provided loop, it gets in the way. You can't use the camera with the entire case dangling from the rear left strap eyelet, obscuring both the viewfinder and LCD panel on the back, and making the camera hard to hold.

So, it takes longer to get the E-10 out of its case, and after that you have to either put down the case, stuff it in a bag or find some other way to deal with it while you take your photos.

In a recent trip to Tuscany I ended up leaving the case at home on most days, as the extra protection it offered meant plenty of candid shots that were missed -- and there's no point owning a camera if you don't take pictures.
