5-0 out of 5 stars Wonderful Camera
If you are looking for an easy-to-use point and shoot camera this is a great one. I wanted a separate camera for my color pictures (I have my manuals for black and white) and this was the best value for the money. The LCD screen is easy to read and you can quickly switch functions (flash, date, focus) and the zoom lens was surprisingly sharp for such a small camera.
The camera loads very easily but the best feature so far has been the different timer options -- you can take 1,2,or 3 pictures in a row OR you can use the remote and point it directly at the camera after positioning yourself.
The only drawback is the viewfinder which is smaller than other cameras I have owned (Nikon/Pentax) but your eye will get used to it. I also recommend checking on ebay for this camera since you can get it new on a sharp discount.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great little camera
I bought this little camera to replace a very old Cannon SureShot. I love this camera! It is sooo easy to use, very small and compact. I love the display on the back, everyone thinks it is digital. Takes pretty good pictures. Very good outdoor pictures, but indoor pictures were too dark and I had flash on, so I will work on that problem to see what I did wrong. I am an amature and I like easy point and shoot cameras that can fit in my pocket. But I highly recommend this camera. This was my first Fuji and I'm very pleased.

5-0 out of 5 stars GREAT camera in small package!
This replaces an old Fuji Zoom I had purchased 6 years ago. The 1300 is 2/3's the size & weight of my old one. VERY compact; large LCD screen to tell you what your controls are set at; controls easy to use; Zoom really ZOOMS up close; pictures great like all the Fuji cameras I've owned. The menu select button is very easy to use - it works like a mouse pointer on a laptop. Menu items easy to select -- just two basic steps to remember.

Drawbacks for me are: viewfinder is on the small side & I worry about scratching the LCD screen (which has no protection on it). Definitely glad I made this purchase however! And try Ebay for good prices -- I got my brand new 1300 for [$$$]including S&H!!

5-0 out of 5 stars The Best Fuji Camera I've Ever Owned
Fujifilm Zoom Date 1300 is one of the best compact camera I have ever owned. I've owned Fuji's other previous 35mm compact cameras such as the DL-90 and the 312 Zoom. The 1300 model is very compact and easy to use. It's so small that just by looking at it you'd guess it's an APS because of the small size. It has a large LCD screen on the back cover that shows you the functions. The Zoom lever is easy to control. The one aspect of this camera is that unlike the previous Fuji cameras that I've owned, the film counter starts at 1 and goes on up to the last frame. In the past, you'd simply drop in your film, close the cover and the film would roll up to the highest number of exposure and count down ex. 24, 23....1. This time it's the opposite way around. Overall, it is easy to use, light weight, and very small for it's size considering it uses a 35mm film. It's a great buy and you won't be disappointed. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars A phenomenon
Thinking of buying a camera? How about buying more than a camera? Well I can tell you that the Fuji 60AF Autofocus 35mm Camera, is a lot more than a camera. In fact, I consider it more of a phenomenon. All the exellent features it provides makes the camera incredible. It is so easy to take pictures with this camera unlike others that you have to hit various buttons to make it work. Not only that, the pictures that anyone takes are astounding. My friends four year old son took 4 or 5 pictures with this thing and we all expected those pictures to come out looking very fuzzy. Not only were they not fuzzy, they were beautiful. If you want a good camera, get something else, but if you are looking for an excellent camera, you have come to the right place. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Love my Fujifilm Discovery S1450
Hi, I'm a lover of picture taking and I ordered this particular camera based photographs one of my friends showed me. They bought this camera and I ended up loving the quality of the pictures. So I got one and have taken tons of rolls and have been very satisfied with all prints (which I develop at my local drug store BTW) :)

5-0 out of 5 stars idiot proof!
My husband has a Samsung that I could not load to save my soul!! I wanted one I could just load and shoot, and thats exactly what I got with this camera! I am glad I did not read the one and only review for this because it was not a fair rating. Sometimes you just get a bummer amongst the pack. I think the buyer should have tried another camera and they probably would have been satisfied. I bought this to take pictures of my very active and adorable granddaughter. I took one whole roll the first day I had this camera and I could not have gotten better results. The zoom is fabulous! I cannot wait until the holidays to capture every little detail of her precious angelic face! An excellent value for the money too!

1-0 out of 5 stars Returned twice!
I bought this camera and it would not load the first two rolls of film (drop and load?). We finally got the third roll to load. That was the ONLY roll of film we got out of this camera. I returned it and was given another one, brand new in the box. The film STILL would not load and even the clerk at the photo store could not understand the problem. I didn't opt for a third S1450. Instead, swapped it out for a different company's camera. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars What a find
What a find! I have owned many cameras, but this model is fantastic! For a casual user, my families vacation, new baby, and leisure shots are remarkable (Note: I have only used fugi film, rather than other brands, and truly believe that the quality photos are due to the fact that cheap film is not being used). This product is well worth the money!! As for the other reviewer having problems with loading film, I have experienced this, however, if you result to the directions, you are only supposed to place the tip of the film in the loading department, my problem was that I placed to much film, and it wouldn't advance, I have not had a problem in 2 years.

1-0 out of 5 stars 3 days...and poof...gone
3 days after buying this camera...the second roll of film will not load into it. Maybe we just bought a bad one...who knows? It will be returned this afternoon for a different brand. Don't waste your time. Stick to other reliable brands. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Best Camera for your money.
The Small camera with the Big picture. Excellent Pictures, makes a novice look good.

2-0 out of 5 stars Exciting features, disappointing performance
I received this camera as a gift about 5 years ago. I love the ability to take a panoramic shot here and there. It is good for large family shots where you are trying to fit everyone in. I also enjoy the remote control. We used it a lot on our honeymoon. That's the good side.

On the down side, the film advance and zoom are VERY loud. Don't expect to use it in a quiet setting like a wedding. The view finder does not accurately represent the picture; it seems to be offcenter. Because of this, you have to be VERY careful when focusing to make sure that you are getting the *right* part of the view finder on the subject that you want to focus on. In addition, I can't hand off my camera to someone else to take the picture, because it is never in focus. Never was able to get this fixed.

I have "learned" to be able to take decent pictures with it, but even I miss it sometimes...and it is always on the really cute pictures. I have been limping along with it mostly because it worked good enough to tolerate all the "lost" good pictures.

We are now expecting a baby, and I want to be able to get good pictures for myself and to be able to have others take good pictures with it too. So we are shopping for a replacement...Finally...Allelujia!

2-0 out of 5 stars Risky
I just got this camera and was first delighted by all the features it carries within an acceptable price. However, after careful observation, it seems that this camera's design is old and technology outdated since 1993 (this is the default start date set by the camera itself, which makes it risky). Also, it doesnt run smooth and I've heard bad things about Fuji's customer service as mentioned by others. I am disappointed and plan to return it back for an exchange. You are better off with a Nikon 90 QD/120 ED or, if you can afford, a Canon Rebel.
This is a sincere advice: Don't buy this brand!

5-0 out of 5 stars Better pictures than the Canon EOS Rebel and Pentax IQ 145QD

I used one of these cameras a few years ago while my camera was being repaired. Since then, I have tried other cameras, including the more expensive Pentax IQ and the new Canon EOS Rebel 2000. Nothing has come close to the picture quality and ease of use of the Fuji Discovery Cameras. I recently bought the slightly updated version of this camera (the 320 QD) for myself and have loved it.

Unlike the Pentax IQ series, this camera allows you to leave the flash off without keeping the shutter open longer (blurring pictures). It's the only camera that takes excellent shots in a dim cathedral. You would think that newer cameras would be better than this older model, but they just aren't!

The only drawbacks of this camera are its bulky size (which I actually like, because it feels good and solid in my hand) and the rather dim viewfinder. But the pictures never come out dim. If you find the Discovery 320, it comes in a nice silver color with a grey rubber grip on the side. Highly recommended!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Great pictures start here!
This is the best camera we've ever owned! The timer and remote finctions enable us to take pictures with both of us actually in them! Versatile, easy to use and very reliable. ... Read more

I used this camera for a vacation and the frist film I put in it the camera broke, I lost some good pictures, so I am not happy one bit. So BEWARE this camera is JUNK>

4-0 out of 5 stars Dependable Basic Camera Ensures Memories in Print
I bought this inexpensive basic camera for those times when I wanted to take a camera along yet did want to have to be real careful with it-- i.e. no huge monetary loss if something happened. The pictures were so great I bought another as a "client loaner" for my clients (I am an attorney) to ensure taking of evidentiary pictures. The product yields above-average quality pictures and we have used them repeatedly as evidentiary documents. It is also very easy to load. I have no doubt I got my money's worth. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Cute, unassuming, and affordable
This is the kind of camera you may want to take with you instead of a disposable. Pros:It's light, small, a no-brainer inexpensive tool to catch snapshots, and, last but not least, has a wide angle lens with reasonable sharpness for a focus-free camera. Cons: Film loading must be carefully performed away from light to avoid marks on your shots (but that's true for most cameras), and, obviously, image sharpness cannot match an autofocus P&S. Overall, a cute little thing.

3-0 out of 5 stars ok for the money

5-0 out of 5 stars GREAT Camera, LOW PRICE!
Fuji did it again...offering it's high-caliber photo technology with the use of APS film. I checked out all major brands, and the reason why I chose Fuji was: Price/value. The Zoom can't be beaten. As for the photo quality, it's fantastic. If you're looking for a fairly priced APS camera with all of the great features such as zoom, this is the one to buy.

2-0 out of 5 stars Just for Snapshots
If I had had the chance to use this camera for a day or two before I bought it, it wouldn't have been "bought". It really is just for snapshots of birthday parties and wading pools. Black and White photos were a disappointment--the color was all off. Enlargements were not sharp and landscapes or distance photos were ill defined. I wouldn't buy it again--which means that I will be buying something else soon, so it was a waste of money.

4-0 out of 5 stars A fantastic go-anywhere camera
I'd recommend this camera to everyone. It's simple to use and makes a great entry camera for anyone that has been considering getting a new one. However, it still gives good results so even the demanding photographer can be pleased with what comes out. I've got a decent 35mm setup (body and several lenses, etc) but if I don't want to take it with me, this pocket size wonder is what I pick up.

The camera's layout is good, all the functionality you need, and the ease of use of and APS system camera. The zoom (about 35-80 in 35mm terms) has a good range and even the flash seems strong for such a small body.

It'd make a great gift for anyone. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Not Worth It
Snapshot cameras operate on such a simple principle that I didn't think it was possible to take such out-of-focus images. Well now it is, thanks to the Nexia 20.

I've owned and used many different 35mm cameras in the past, and I was able to produce some kind of workable image with every one of them, even the wind-up snapshot camera I have. This one I gave a try to get a feel for what APS can do.

I took pictures from 3 feet away, 10 feet away, and at great distance. I took them in daylight, and I took them with a flash. I took them in a box, and I took them with a fox, but nothing I could do would make a single picture I took with this camera appear in focus.

The view lens doesn't line up either, so if you think you're taking a picture of your friends, you're actually taking a picture of your friends from the neck down.

The problem with making a discount APS camera is you can't take away features to make it more affordable (it requires automatic film advance/rewind and print format selection) so all you can do is make everything cheaper. Which they most certainly did.

My advice is to go with a 35mm camera in this price range, or to buy a more expensive camera if you must have APS.

In short, this should be sold as a paper-weight or maybe as a Rubik's cube-type toy (try opening the loaded film compartment without a chisel), but this thing is no camera.
